  1. <p>I was in the exact same boat a little while ago. My Fuji S2 crapped out as well and I ended up ordering a D7000 ( which incidentally is again in stock right now : <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042X9LCO?ie=UTF8&tag=sorinsphotogr-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B0042X9LCO">D7000</a> ). I decided I'll just use the live view when I want to see a bigger image. For me the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BTCSI6?ie=UTF8&tag=sorinsphotogr-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B001BTCSI6">D700 </a>was too expensive to justify.</p>
  2. >The motor is wear point and Nikon is not known as a company that makes parts available for older equipment.

Really, because I purchased several times parts directly from Nikon for things that have been out of production for decades. Not to mention that so far Nikon it's been the ONLY company (from those I asked) that was willing to sell directly to me, as an end user, parts for their products. This is in part the reason they have my business.
