Hi Sean...the black& white perspective creates an artistic result. Shooting in a zoo is not easy, due to the man made facilities which ruin the photos. You managed though to capture a compelling portrait shot. Regards from Greece, Teo

Very artistic perspective. I like the weird composition and the nice use of "shapes". Well done Chris, regards from Greece.

Wide angle lenses can be very deceptive! I was literally 3 feet away when I
took this shot and the bull elephant leading the herd was twice the size of
my vehicle! Thank you for your comments!

Very artistic and difficult in terms of exposure. Great shot Andre, regards from Greece!

Hi Jennifer....when you shoot the sun with a super-telephoto lens (which means that the sun will occupy a big part of the frame), you always end up with a washed out sky and nice silhouettes....even when the sun is only a few degrees above ground. The ONLY way to capture a non washed out sun with that big focal length is the use of a mylar, solar filter which will completely ruin the rest of the picture and keep a well exposed sun. I locked exposure on the sun in this photo and focused on the giraffe. Thanks for your time and comment, Teo

Hi Dave....a few suggestions on how this image could be a little bit better. Very tight framing, the legs of your subject are almost cut off. Very wide DOF, which means that the background by not being blurred distracts the viewer's attention without adding aesthetically at all. Passport-like, dull body position. Always try to avoid record animal shots where no emotion, behaviour or any kind of activity is displayed. Regards from Greece, Teo

The simplicity of this image is it's beauty. The whole scene, the light and composition create a strange melancholic feeling! Well done Bob.

Lovely light and colors. The dim silhouettes of the wildebeest in the background bring life to the scene. Regards from Greece, Teo

Funny body position coupled with nice warm light and colors. The snow in the background adds aesthetically even more! Great image, regards, Teo

Outstanding clarity and sharpness! The background also matches the colors of the owl! Well done Hem, great shot.

Hi! The main issue when someone shoots wildlife in a zoo is the constant presence of human made facilities (like fences, buildings, ect), which ruin the wild "mood" of the viewer. If possible try to exclude all elements that betray humanity, by using the correct angle of view and a very shallow DOF. The sided soft light in your photo is beautiful...BUT look at the background....very distractive and above all....man made! Regards from Greece, Teo
