Sorry, dimensions are 12'x25' and even if it is in feet it is some kind of a doll house for a studio... Ideally, I'd like to have 25x25 but my wife disagree a bit.

hi!
I'm at completing the "construction" of my small studio 12"x25" and I wonder
what color should I use to paint the wall? Any suggestions? thanks

I'm in France (east part) and Swiss (Geneva) for the next month and I'm looking
for good location to shoot animal and birds. Any suggestion will be welcomed.
Thanks.

I tried 3 times to format the card but it did not work out. the (cha) is still on the lcd sreen and the non-useable card indication is still on the camera monitor. Anything else I could try? My others cards work perfectly with my camera. thanks

I emptied my Sandisk Ultra II 2GB and after that when putting it back in my
D70s I had this sign on the screen (cha). It seems that my card is out of

You should try to take a look at the "Drobo", with this device you will have all the memory you want for many years to come check this :
http://www.drobo.com/products.aspx#products_nav and this : http://www.drobo.com/products_demo.aspx .Really easy to handle and more and more people using it. Now I can say technology is at our service with that kind of device.

Hi!
I'm at trying to install the free plugin from onONe
(http://www.ononesoftware.com/photopresets-acr-wow.php) for ACR 4.1 that I have
updated on my computer. It does not work.
Is that plugin only for ACR4.1 combining with CS3?
The plugin for LR 1.1 works great already! thanks

I use the 205BW for my photo and video work and it is good monitor, good waranty, low cost, easy to calibrate and the gammut and contrast of it is quite impressive. You can do a comparision on monitor in "Reponse photo", they did a big survey on that subject but it is a french magazine...

I agree with Mary.
Both facts are true in absolute physics way, the smaller the aperture the bigger the diffraction and better the DOF. But, can you see the difference of sharpness between f8 and f22? If no, shoot at the aperture you want. If yes, I recommend to you to shoot at f8 and to have a nice DOF use a stacking software such as Helicon or Combine ZM this will allow you to make a fusion of many of the same images but in each images the only settings you change is the postion of the DOF with the focusing ring of your macro lense.

I use Elements 5.0 and Lightroom 1.1 and sometimes Capture NX (but rarely). I'll do some test with your method Godfrey.

Hi all!
To achieve dramatic sky in b&w I was using a red filter when shooting film.
Now that I shoot digital, i,m aware that using color filter on my digital
camera is not the best of things so I want to know how to achieve the same
effect in PS? Any help is welcome!
Thanks
Pierre

use the Opanda software to read the exif informations on the last photo that you take in JPEG and you will a line of information called : Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera = xxxx. Find it at http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html.
-
Look at : http://www.hadleyweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/CZM/Manual/Install.htm
software the same thing as heliconFocus but free. What it does is it combines mutli-frames shoot of the same image with different position of the DOF in the images to make one image with a fusion of many different DOF. It works really well.

I plan to buy a new body in the weeks to come. I'm a Nikon user since 1991 and
happy about it (F601, F-801, D70s).
The S5 is made from the D200 body and have a better ccd and better Mpix count
(12 instead of the 10 for the D200)and they are about same price. Why not go
for the S5? Any advise are welcomed.
I heard that the fuji raw file from S5 is quite difficult to work with. Is PS
able to open it and work with thse files? Also, I read ( in Black and White
photography magazine) that the S5 as an output resolution of 12.1 Mpix but that
resolution chart test showed that it captures the same amount of details as the
D200 ccd of 10 Mpix (I really dont understand that part of the article....
thanks.

ok I did that and it works fine. Now, how do you set Unsharp mask to sharpen your image before final output. thanks.
-
I have a 6.1 Mpix image that is ok when printing at size of 8x10 and 11x14. I
would like to go bigger so I used Irfanview resizing tool for a size print of
27.5 in.X39.25 in. DPI drop to 72 dpi, that is normal but how will it look on
the print?
Also, how do I sharpen that kind of resize image? Do I need to sharpen images
that no interpolation is involved (my regular 8x10 print)? thank you.
-
thanks Paul, all of that is very helpfull!

I need to know cause I plan to buy a used one so I want to be able to verify when i will inspect the D200 body.
-
How do I verify total actuation on a Nikon D200?
-
I'll try to find a way cause I'm of the few that works with Capture NX. Also, I contacted Nikon support and i let you know their answers ASAP :

My DSLR produces 6.1 Mpix files. I've got really good prints at 8x10 and
11x14. I would like to go bigger maybe to 27x39. I'm sure it is too big for
my 6.1 Mpix file but I would like to know if with good interpolation I could
reach that size (27x39). I never worked with interpolation software so any
suggestions are welcomed on wich to use and how!
Also, why is stair interpolation better than upsampling one time to the size
you want??? thanks
Epson Stylus Pro 7600
in The Digital Darkroom: Process, Technique & Printing
Posted
Hi!
I would like to upgrade my small Canon printer to something bigger that could
print the sizes I need for my own production and few contracts. I have locate
a Epson Stylus Pro 7600 that fits my needs and in very good shape (visually).
I would like to know how much to pay for it, what to look for when I will
inspect it and if there was major issue for not buying that Epson model? thanks
