  1. Received my Narciss back from JW camera repair in Chicago. Put 3 rolls through it. It's working like a charm and smooth as can be .
  2. This is the only place I have found of GemFlex pictures, such as they are. I was able to get the paper off of one roll. Brittle of course but in good enough condition to us as a template to cut another from 120 backing paper. I'll give it a try in the next few days.
  3. Tetenal has both developer and fix in tablet form. I've not tried it myself but perhaps someone else here has.
  4. Martin, thought you might like to see this. One metal spool came with the camera. Several plastic spools I tried didn’t really fit so made my own. Making one was enjoyable, making a dozen would be a pain.
  5. Thanks. I enjoy and use Minox 8x11 mechanical cameras. The C and DSC in the collection are there simply because they are the first electronic and first digital sub miniatures Minox sold. I also have an original Bakelite enlarger which gets used fairly often.
  6. My Minox collectio. Each CLA'd by DAG. Each used once a year or more.
  7. Hello Ian Nice shot. Meter or eyball and what developer did you use?
  8. Thank you both. Guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope to get the cassettes and not a refund.
  9. Anyone ordered the aluminum cartridges from M.S. Hobbies? I placed an order when they first went up for pre-production sale. I haven't heard a word about them for several months. Emailed them about a week ago and have no reply to date.
  10. It is an excellent camera, no complaints on focusing or even the 'light meter' once i got used to it. For me however it is awkward to use. tried it with have a dozen rolls and never got used to it. to many decades with the Minox, Edixa and Mec cameras I guess.
  11. Try '3r camera repair' of New York years ago they repaired mine.
  12. is Hapyucc a word or just a misunderstanding of how to convert Нарцисс?
  13. Just processed film from a Narciss and an Edixa U. I like my Tower 16, mec 16 and various others but the minox still beats the others for both quality and as a constant companion. The Narciss and Edixa U are the only ones in decades to give even a little competition to my Minox II.
  14. I have an external spring drive for the Robot Royal. On both the 24 and the 36s a full winding will advance a full 36 exposure roll. P.S. This new format is really to much to bother with any longer. Ya'll have a good life. Richard
  15. From MTC macro digital to B.C.S. tele film... with a bit of ingenuity Minox does it all with quite acceptable results. Not positive but I think a while back Martin even had some microscopic shots.
  16. Decent detail Martin. What is your setup for getting that close with a DSC?
  17. I stay with the darkroom because I enjoy the process. Before this I used the Yashica Autoron. Bluemoon is just up the road from me so if I want digital they'd be the one to do the scanning.
  18. Checked with a grain focuser and is now perfect. I'm in the process of making the postcard stand. Set the lens on the green dot and raised the enlarger on LEGO blocks and paper shims till the grain was in focus to get measurements. Now we'll see if my handiwork in making the stand approximates minox quality. When I get my ubuntu problem figured out I'll upload a picture of it.
  19. VEF Minox enlarger is now working like a charm. Height normal app. 8” Height with auxiliary base app. 10 1/4” Print size normal 2 1/2” X 3 1/2” Print size with auxiliary base 3.5” X 5” 2 VAC transformer or battery operation Print lamp BA9s base G-4 1/2 bulb Safe light flashlight (E10?) screw base T3-1/4 bulb Focus using red dot or green dot on lens matched to dot on housing. Red dot is for 2 1/2 3 1/2 print and green dot is for 3 1/2 X 5 print. Original VEF bulbs are 2 volt. Transformer is in excellent condition and works fine. Having old and probably brittle insulation I really don't trust it enough for normal use. 3 volt bulbs with proper base are available but went with 6 volt print and safelight bulbs because of the readily available (flashlight) battery packs and bulbs.
  20. I like the soft low contrast of the Riga. I also like the higher contrast and sharpness of the III. I normally carry both. Lately I've been using ADOX CMS 29 I,I mostly developed in Adotech II though I've had good results with Caffenol as well.
