John,
The eyepiece stays where it and the diopter screws into the eyepiece.
You can get them from Leica or aftermarket. Last I checked, Leica had their's at $72, but that was awhile ago
I have a spare +2 if that is what you are looking for. It's an aftermarket. You can email if interested.

I got one from Hong Kong Supply and am guessing they are all pretty much the same
Good quality and will work on all M Cameras. I use mine on my M3 & M8
I like the Leica one a little better, but not for the cost difference.

The eyepiece thread is the same, so it will work. Screws in just like a Diopter. I used one on my M5 when I had it. The only issue will be seeing the full viewfinder, but the meter is on the bottom, so you can shift your eye down and as I remember, the 35mm frame-lines will be to the edge of what you can see.
You can focus with both eyes open and I rather liked it, especially with the 50 & 90.

"Beautiful boat Randy. Could you start a new thread with more pictures of it?"

John,
I have followed the progress for the last couple of years.
I'll look through my Negitives and M8 Files and see what I can come up with and post them on Flickr and provide a link for viewing.

The following 2 Images are of the Boat "Irene" It was an abandoned boat in the Harbor @ Pillar Point, Half Moon Bay, California. Through Donations and Free labor, it was restored to what you see now. It still has some finish work to be done, but she's a beauty
Shot with an M8 and 28mm CV Ultron

I thought Tocad may do the service as they do work on the Contax G, but it looks like they don't.
heres a link to some info

It does show that Metro camera in NY does.

Brad,
It's a toss up.
It is used both for a higher magnification and because you can focus with both eyes open like you can do with the M3.
I have an M3 and that's the way I do focus, but I have yet to try the 1.4x on my M8. It's tempting, but ain't cheap

I have the 90 and use it on my M8. It's a fantastic lens and would not give it up.
To code it you just have to black out the screw that is in the coding area on the lens mount.

Andrea,
As luck would have it, I just tried the Battery again. It will not work in my M8 now. Shows full charge on the charger, but nothing when I insert it in the camera.
Thanks for posting the thread. I would have hated to be out and find the back-up battery didn't work when I needed it.

Sorry, Wrong Link. Here is the correct one. It's an Empire Battery that I got from Amazon

I got this one on the recommendation of another member.
Works great, charges to full in the M8 charger and has no memory. $50.00
