Simple yet great shot! The colors really play well in this one.

Thanks for your comment on my driving photo. One thing that helps is putting the camera on a tripod and using a cable release.

Amazing moon shot! Nice work on framing it, too. Kinda feels like its rising with it in that upper left corner (in my part of California, when facing it, the moon rises toward the viewer's upper left, then sets toward the lower left.)
  1. The branches aren't interfering at all thanks to great depth of field. Maybe a bit shallower, so the clump of moss in the lower right and the one in the lower left didn't compete as much for focus. This is a great shot of a very pretty bird.

Working from this photo here, what you did right was capture a weathered object in a moody way. There are no whites at all in this black & white image, thanks to low ambient lighting. That works perfectly for a skull, which is cast as grays rather than the actual white. This type of lighting and final photo look would also be useful for a lot of things that look good moody, including (but not limited to): Dead trees, abandoned buildings, rocky landscapes, big rocks, a very stern man's portrait, a very upset person's portrait, etc.

Ah, the views from 17 Mile Drive. Its a great place out there, and you caught a great view of it. Looks like the sun did exactly what you wanted it to.

I agree with florian, the depth of field is outstanding in this photo! What a great use of a wide-angle to get that "Spring is on the way" feeling!

Oh, this is an awesome photo! It looks like something you might find in an advanced biology textbook about animal behavior. Just a really cool concept, and personally its the first time I've seen something this unique on P.Net!

This is a really great spin on what would otherwise be a great outdoor shot. Then again, I think only photographers can enjoy a shot like this, or get the humor involved. So, what did his shot of you look like?

    not yet!

Awesome creative photo! So simple with so much negative space and two very small subjects, but it works so very well. My favorite part is how the slight turning away of the human hand makes such a strong statement about its intent, "not yet" indeed.

A very colorful and cute shot of the ferret's playfulness. You certainly captured his energetic movement very well! What a cute little fellow.

Wow! This is a wonderful photo! The puppy and the woman work so well together in this shot, and your cropping is spot-on to capture their fun, enjoyable attitude. This almost looks like a great ad shot that could work for so many different things, the least of which would be a pet supply shop, or better yet, an animal shelter hoping to boost adoptions.

I definitely like the mood and look of this photo! Then again, I have a bias toward mirror and driving shots. Were you driving while taking this? It would be neat to see a little motion blur going on, but just a tad to suggest movement without killing the detail of the photo. Still very cool!
