Long time back when I was a little kid of 8 or so, I have seen my father doing

some touching on his films, using a wooden square box with a lamb inside it, a

galss on the top of the box and a black paper hard sheet with a square opening

on the sheet where he place his film and uses a piencel to do the touching.

 

 

Has any one seen such box before ?

I stopped my subscribing long time back, because I used to receive my copies, 3 month old by the time they send them to my country, although I have paid for all of the postage charges.

I have a great time to focus using my 4X5 Toyo View camera, I have 6X9CM

Mamiya back with it, which slide both way, the focusing is very hard to

obtain, infact some times I see nothing at all view the rear finder, I have

lost the black blanket which father was using on his both view cameras and he

is also not any more reachable these days to find out how he was doing the

focusing.

 

Any tips I will approcaite it.

Most likely card reader, I link the camera directly to the PC and down load all of the images this way, now I have the sandisk 16gb my acrd reader can read any of them, while the reader can read the 12gb sandisk I have and also the 8GB one with no problem, so for the 16GB I connect the camera via the USP.

 

I always down load the images from the card stright away to pc as soon I finish shooting and then copy all those files on dvd disk and store them in a sepcail cabinet and number them, or add titles on the disks and then add them to a pc fotware for quick refrence to search for the images I like to get to.

I use cs3 a lot and before I used cs2 the same, again using photoshop today is like using a conversional dark room, photographers used to manuploate their photographs and films in the old days, there fore as long as my images would look better and be liked more by other I do not mind at all using the photoshop or any other digital software.

 

I have a programmer, a friend of mine , he developed a digital polorizing effect for my photoshop , a plug-in which I have added to the system and it was not very successful in the intial time, now he improved it a lot and the version I am using is doing a great job for the sky of my images.

I was going through the canon lens system as I have the antention to by a

wider zoom in range than the one I have at the moment which is the 24-105MM

F4L.

 

Some thing in what I read about the specifications of this lens saying the

weight of the lens without battery, is this lens because it is one of those

vibration free lens do have an intenral battery and if so would my 24-105MM

will also have an internal battery, as this lens also viration free lens ?

 

 

The same vibration free lens I have a sigma 70-200MM F2.8 Through, for my

Nikon system, would that also have a battery and if these battries run out how

I can get to them or if they run out while I am on location photographing, how

would I replace them ?

I like to use Hoya filters, UV, Polorizer and ND, but I find them at the city centre Dubai Al-Sharaf store on the third floar much cheaper comparing it to the other manufacturer, an 82MM plorizer circular of Hoya cost only 20 USA Dollars while the other brand cost 3 times as much in the same shop, is this because Hoya is lower quality or is there any other reason for being so cheap ?

This time I bought arouns 12 Hoya filters, they come in a very nice case and looked to me very good, but I am not that much expert in quality wise.

Thank you my friend, I have already bought a flash for my Canon 5D which I bought recently from Dubai, the Fuji built in flash I found very small and its part of the camera, so its easy to handle.

 

I will check for this curtain sync command and see if I can sort it out, thank you a lot for this useful informations

For my out door people photography I use the Fuji S3 Pro which is my second

camera for my Nikon system along with my Nikon D2X.

 

I prefer taking the Fuji S3 with me at night specially where people are

working at night markets and so on, the reason is using its built in flash.

 

During my trip to United Arab Emirates this time, I noticed when I click the

shutter, the camera freez and then after few seconds it fires, but when its

too late, and the subject had changed position already, or son.

 

This do not happen when the flash is not use.

 

Is this because of the flash sequence I have it selected wrong, or is it

something wrong with camera built in flash, not synchronizing with the shutter

speed.

 

This happen when I select the aperture on manual mode while the camera select

the shutter speed.

 

Could some one please advice what to serach for to correct this matter ?

Thank you all for this genrous input to my question, I will take the advice and only use the filters of high quality, Hoya I bought in Dubai for 4 different lenses, but I was scared that these filters might alter the chrascterstic of the digital lenses, now it is not, I will fit them on, I work in a desert atmosphere and drive long ways in the desert, that cause a lot sand travelling to my equipment which is dengerous.

I always used one of these 2 filters mainly as protection for my lenses, never

bout a lens and used it for even one shot before it been flitered with one of

these.

 

 

The question is, these filters are they suitable to use on Digital cameras ?,

or is there a side effect on the digital camera performace ? because of these

filters ?.

 

Is there another type of such filters to be used on digital camera ?, and if

there is how would we classify them ? and where from to get them ?

Father had the the 85MM soft focus canon manual lens and he given it to me , I used it a lot and I like it , it will be a great change to use the auto focus, soft focus one on digital camera.

yes it is the EF 135 soft focus, I emailed adorama before i place the order but for 3 days i did not receive any answer so i decied to place the order this evening, I am in Qatar my friend and i need this lens for some studio work with my 5d camera.

I ordered today the Canon 135MM Soft Focus Auto Focus Lens from Adorama, this

is to repace the earlier Manual 85MM Canon Soft Focus Lens which I have used a

lot with my Canon F1n camera.

 

The problem now , I am not sure if this new canon 135mm soft focus lens with

work with my canon 5d or not ?

 

I will approcaite it is some one knows the answer, please

Good Evening, a person should talk about himself and do not relate his problem to others, rating is not important to me by any means, the 3/3 or the 7/7, just the same, the comments I get on my images, good ones and hard ones are good for me to learn where I did good and where I need to improve, this is the real idea of being on an international site like photo.net, I have to except every one opinion, other wise I will never be able to learn.

 

I am happy with out the rating, that why most of my images posted with the rating option blocked.

 

If I do not except other people ideas and opinions about my work here then I should not post any images here and just keep them for myself and protend they are the best and nothing wrong with them " life do not work that way "

Just one hour back Photo Net been sensored in qatar while I was adding some

comments on some of my friends photos

 

This is the second time this matter takes place but this time even more sever,

every thanb nail now can not be viewed and instead I get the internet provider

Sign saying this site been blocked.

 

The site first page do open ok and I can log to my working place but no image

i can open at all

 

I like my friends to understand that I might with this case can not add

comments to their images under this condition

 

Please if there is any way to over come this problem and some one knows a way

out I will approcaite it so much
