Well, I will certainly continue to use Essex when I can contact them, but until then, this is my situation. I have a Canon FX, and I'd like to have the split-image screen either cleaned or replaced, depending on what it needs. Who would be your choice to send it to, in lieu of Mr. Kim and Essex?

Hello,
Not a surprise, thanks for the info, hope they didn't get devastated.
Thanks

Hello,
Gosh, hadn't thought of that, thanks.

Hello,
Anyone know what's up with Essex Camera? I've sent two estimate requests via their website, and no response in a week. I've checked my spam, nothing there. I've emailed Shi Kim, no response.

Thanks

Dirk, or anyone else who can answer,
Like you, I also have a like-new original F-1 with one of those great action finders, but I've never seen the eyecup for it. Where did you find the eyecup for your action finder? I live in the U.S. Sorry for the duplicate entries.

John White does a 'good' job, but I would recommend microbee on _bay, he does a better job...

Gus, the McBroom book says the Bronica S2A's were rugged and dependable. They say the earlier models were not.

Hello,
I am looking for a tripod head for my Ricoh Diacord. It needs a platform at least 55mmx65mm for its little feet. I am considering one of these tripod heads, but I don't know the dimensions of the mounting area on these models of head. Supposedly, they are identical. Could anyone tell me those dimensions? Also, what else is out there? Any other heads I should be considering? I use a Bogen 3211 and 3236.

Thanks

Hello,
Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone heard anything about Fujifilm 35mm-120 film production?

Thanks

Hello,
If you had a Booster T finder and it needed repair, where would you send it?

Thanks

Hello,
I have an original F-1, and I've just purchased a 35mm f2.8 S.S.C tilt-shift, and was wondering which viewfinder or viewfinder/accessory combination do you all use with it for easiest focusing? I have the regular metered head, and the sport finder. I already have the 'D' grid screen.

Thanks

Thanks, Willliam

I sent it back today; I think I'll give it a rest for a while. A battery grip would be nice, but perhaps not essential. I'll consider trying another one later. Thanks for everyone's help.

Following both your no. 1 and 2 scenarios, I'm getting quite random display behavior from both the top display and the viewfinder display; on, off, illumination on the top display on, off randomly; I think I'll return the grip. Thanks for the help.

Hello,
I purchased a lightly used Nikon D300 last month, it's been working perfectly, I purchased a new MB-D10 grip, installed it today, and when I turned the camera off, the memory card access lamp started to blink. I've found similar stories listed in Photo.net, but I think mine is a little different. I think I've done most of the usual things, removed the card, cleaned the contacts, taken the EN EL3e out of the body, and that is what has stopped the blinking; taking the EN EL3e out, and reconnecting the MB-D10 with 8 AA's ( I use NIMH's, I did specify them in Custom Settings along with specifying using the grip batteries first.) When I reinsert the EN-EL3e, and reinstall the MB-D10 with the 8 AA's, the blinking starts again. Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, I ended up with a Nikkor 20mm f3.5, waiting for delivery, we'll see...

Now that I've read Bjorn's review, I might be interested in a 20mm 2.8, thanks for the tip; can't wait till tax return time!

Hello,
I have a simple but specific question; I own a Nikon D300, and I'm just about finished putting together a set of manual focus lenses for it; I have a 35mm 2.0 ai, a 50mm 1.8 ai, and a 85mm 2.0 ai. A wider lens I might like to have, but I'm not sure it's essential to me; I have a Nikon F3 and a 35mm Nikkor O (ai'd) and a Canon F-1 and a 35mm FL 2.0 concave, so as far as that goes, I'm already covered for wide angle, but a nice cheap (under $200.00 used in good condition) sleeper 24mm manual focus lens that performs great with the D300, with nice sharpness and bokeh like the Nikkor O would be nice to have. Anything remotely like that out there?

Thanks

Hello,
I am receiving a Canon F-1 (early) and a Power Winder F soon, and I would like to know a little about putting them together. Can the camera owner do it, or does it usually get done by a camera repairman? If owners do it, does anyone have any tips or techniques, advice on tools to use, etc. I have also purchased the owners manual for the winder, expecting it in a few days.

Thanks

OK, just got a speed finder; the prices at the auction site are around 180 smackers, but at KEH, got one for $48 in excellent condition. Also got a winder there for $78. Oh oh, I'm building a monster!

While I'm on the horn, I might as well ask; is there a handbook similar to the Nikon Compendium, only for Canon cameras that covers the original F-1?

Thanks

Rick,
I've got my eye on one of those rings at the auction site, but I've asked to make sure it screws into the viewfinder opening before I get one.

Thanks

Hello,
I have just purchased a refurbished early Canon F-1, and was wondering, how is the viewfinder for eyeglass wearers?

Thanks

Hello,

I own a Canon FTBn, and on _bay, there's an MR-9 adapter being sold by a dealer called pratedthai; has anyone purchased one of these, used it, and would recommend it?

Thanks
