1.
Saw this grouping in a parking lot.

 2.
Buying a Typ 262 turned out to be quite a challenge: seems that supply is short. This is the first time I have owned a rangefinder (except I might have owned a Brownie when I was a kid - can't remember). Yesterday I tried it for the first time, and I could not be happier. Thanks to all on this forum who helped me decide on lenses: I decided to start with a single lens - Summicron 35mm f/2.
I know I have a long way to go with my pictures, so this is well below the standard I see in this thread, but I would like to share one of my "first light" photos, shot at a Saturday Farmer's Market in Vancouver, BC

 3.
Thanks for all the responses. I think I am going to start with a 35mm Summicron and buy the second lens after I have some experience shooting with the 262. I notice on B&H that a 35mm Summicron ASPH is not yet available. I assume this a new version of the 35mm Summicron? Should I wait for this version to be available before I go ahead?

 4.
Weight matters to me, so I would rather go for the 50mm Summicron. Which focal length is better for travel - 50mm or 35mm?

 5.
My Minolta STR101 was the best camera I ever owned. Brilliant display for setting speed and f-stop, great split-screen focusing. But it has been downhill for me ever since. My DLSRs have all been too complicated, too feature rich, too much in my way. Enough is enough. I love what I have read so far about the Leica M Typ 262: I don't want live view, I don't want video, and I do want a focusing system that leaves me in complete control. So I will almost certainly buy one.
I will probably start with 2 lenses. Which would you recommend? I was thinking of the 35mm f/2.0 Summicron as my everyday lens (street, travel, family etc.) but I would also like a telephoto lens. I don't think I need anything wider than the 35mm.
Any advice from M owners would be appreciated.
Michael
