I don't know if my resceived feeling from this photograph is what you wanted to send viewers or not, but, i see a great paing solitude in your shoot.
  The Greay and high contrasted B/W mood, the way man is walking and your framing were effective for me to have this reomoval from the image.

And aslo what shows the pain more and more in it, is the way that roots are got out of the ground...
