1.
It's been a while since I've chimed in so...
Nice shots all -
Camus, I dig the rain drop shot! Wow!
Anyway, I'm on a trip that has me in Arches NP for several days. Here's a few takes:

00V4tQ-193519584.jpg.59a2d5139d50e1f9b3ce9dd8b6b37a35.jpg

 2.
Looks like I'm still having some trouble...

By the way, these were taken with my broke DA* 16-50. It's off to Pentax for repairs. I got the new replacement this morning, and the AF doesn't work! Just can't seem to win.

 3.
Hi Somanna,
I don't own either lens, but I'll offer this: I recently picked up the Sigma 70-200 2.8. I compared it to the Pantax 50-135, and found it actually had better IQ (if only slightly) than the Pentax. It was about $50 more than the Pentax, but I haven't had a second of buyer's remorse. I love this lens. Beautiful, bright and tack sharp. After I bought the lens, and as we were discussing the test shots (I brought my camera and laptop into Tri-State Camera in NYC), the guy at the store said he felt Sigma, which was regarded as the worst, is now the best of the 3rd part lens makers.
Like you, I like wide angles and low light. I have the Sigma 10-20 f3.5-5.6. It's a great lens, but the variable aperture drives me nuts. I don't like having to recalculate exposure every time I zoom the lens. So now I almost never use it in dark situations. I wonder if I would have been happier with the Pentax 12-24 f4, even @ $300 more expensive. (But I'm not interested in the new Sigma 10-20 2.8 at that price).

Hope that helps inform your decision.

 4.
Hey all,

Just got this in my e-mail... Hope the link works! This is the first I've seen of a Pentax sponsored workshop.

If it doesn't try this - not the best webstie, but it has the info...

 5.
I have used Pentax M and A primes on my K10D and my old K100D. No complaints whatsoever. And I'm thrilled with my FA 50mm 1.4 and Limited 77mm 1.8! I have several Tokina AT-X Pro (film era) zooms that I have used and found that they aren't as sharp or contrasty as digitally optimized lenses.
Hope that helps.
I'm sure Mis can give you some good ideas about this, too.

 6.
I just bought a K20D at TriState Camera in NYC last week for $620. That's about as good a deal as can be had right now, I think.
If you have any questions, call the store and ask for Steve. He's why I keep going there. Knows his stuff and doesn't try to sell you anythign you don't need.

 7.
Hi Doug and Justin,
I kept getting an error page and managed to accidently post the same comment half a dozen times. I was able to edit out my comments, but I don't know how to (if I even can) remove my post entirely. Please take out the extra blank posts, when you get a chance.

Oh, and please don't ban me. ;-)

Thanks,
Sean
