Mauro,

I wish you good luck on your "goodwill hunting" from the Leica factory.

They are noted for their impressive repair work, with prices to match.

Ken,

I seems that there may be friction between the bottom surface of the focusing knob and the top surface of the winding lever. It drags the wind lever out when turned counterclockwise. The aforementioned detent is not sufficient to hold the wind lever.

Two years ago I found an outfit that sold the Varta V14PX battery. I bought two . The first is working out very well so far.
Previously, I had been using two CRIS adapters with #286 cells. The adapter reduces the voltage of the series
pair to 2.7 Volts.
I will admit that QLM does a superb job

Andrew,

I have been using older shutter lenses from roll film and plate cameras installed in bellows for Leica, Nikon and Hasselblads. I have found some superb Goerz Dagors and Kodak f7.7 Anastigmats that produced fantastic portraits. The 6 inch focal length f7.7 Kodak was a knockout! Especially when installed on my Hasselblad.

Ms. Franck,

It is completely a phoney in every way. Made from a Ukranian POS.

One of the advantages of an SLR !

No Paul. It is off by about an inch. Maybe the AH-3, with it's multiplicity of tripod sockets would work better.
Meanwhile I use a Leica flash bracket which exactly centers the tripod socket with the lens. Do you want one?
I use the Nikon AH-2 with my Nikon Motor drive for the F3-- Sweet!

You want flare?? Any flare pervert would love the old 50mm f2.0 Summar. The "Flaremeister" of all
Leica lenses. I couldn't GIVE mine away!!

If the new Mystery Camera is a full frame, M mount device, I will buy it as my FIRST digital camera.
The name; Mini-M, tells me that it may be M mount, BUT:
BTW, didn't Leitz/Minox make a mini-mini copy of the M3??

Steve,

I had one of those, (actually an Ikoflex 1) when I was in high school. My Novar lens was identical to yours, but your results appear sharper than mine. Those shots of your double-wide home are excellent.

Mukul,

No, this seems to be the right place for your message. I have done a lot of transactions with individuals and businesses in Asian nations. I always insist on PayPal when buying and prefer it when selling. NO THIRD PARTY, please.

One is for the viewfinder and 'tother could be used for a separate rangefinder, which was common
in the 1930's.

It is a miniature and stylized cartoonist version of the Leica M3. Anything further is a waste of time.

I have found that the MR meter with the CRIS adapter has produced perfect results for many years.

Also that Quality Light Metric's repair of Weston Meters is excellent. If you can find a non-working
Weston Master III or IV at a camera show for next to nothing, send it to QLM for a cell replacement.

I have found that the Rowi Table Top Tripod and Clamp-pod set is superior to the Leitz setup and
much cheaper too.

I attend as many Camera Shows as possible in the San Diego area (there are only 2 per year!) I have been able to pick up some needed items for film M Leicas, SLR Nikons and 6x6cm Hasselblad.
Please let me know what you have available.

Franco,

The Leica III does NOT have a focusable rangefinder. The IIIc and the IIIf does.
The focusability has nothing to do with the viewfinder, only the rangefinder. They are totally separate images.
Only when you get to the IIIg and the M Leicas do you get a combined RF and VF image.
I hope I have un-confused you!

What is wrong with a standard Leica neck-strap? I have a few extras.

Jerry

-

Yes, John-- It is akin to the VALOO/16620 Click stop aperture ring for 50mm Elmar when use as an enlarger lens.

-

Believe me , I've tried them all and the V4 is by far the best 35. It is followed by the 40 Summicron.

The Zeiss is far too pricey, has an inconvenient lens hood and uses non-Leica size filters. It is also
big and heavy compared to the V4. The images are great though.

Craig--- Not worth rebuilding a early M meter. If you must have a coupled meter for your M3, get an MR-4 Meter.

Quality Light Metric in Hollywood does a beautiful job rebuilding meters.

If I didn't have almost the same outfit (plus the 80mm Planar) I would jump at that assemblage of
H'blad stuff. You will love it!

-

H.C.-- Have you considered using the H'blad Bellows? Since you are going to have the camera on a tripod, I would believe the bellows would give you a useful range of magnification.

What meter, what camera? Separate meter? Or meter in camera?

Leica in New York does not exist any more.
