I appreciate your thoughts...

John I absolutely love your work.
I'm curious what is your favorite lens to use when for glamor shots and portraits?

I love it!

Pretty cool. I think I would have slowed the shutter speed to give the tree branches and needles a wispy look to accentuate the wind...and maybe brighten up the leaves to capture the green color that almost looks black? I have no idea how to do that, but that's just how I'm picturing it in my mind.
Nice portfolio btw

Thanks Douglas
I lighted the foreground using Control Point in CaptureNX. I think part of what makes everything look weird is I took this picture right after a fog had lifted. But yea I agree the brightening really did change the look and feel of the photo. My goal when I took it was to underexpose so I got the sun shooting through the dark tree.
The morning fog and sunrise looked amazing. Unfortunately I was driving my son to baseball camp. I dropped my son off then headed straight for the countryside. Of course as soon as I found a park the fog lifted and the clouds started to scatter and the sun got pretty high.....so I missed what I was really after.
After 15+ years out of photography I decided to get back into it. The digital age is a little different then the ole dark room. lol
I've got to take a class on using these photo programs. It's been a slow frustrating process learning how to use it.

I took some of your advice on my last shot of this tree... I lighted up the foreground, some cropping, and I figured out how to remove that dust spot.
Is this an improvement over the first? (please look in my gallery to compare)
I'm learning how to produce digital RAW photos so I value your opinion.
thanks
Chad
