another stunning mono architecture piece my friend. that sky is to die for when shooting b/w. it adds such a wonderful abstract contrast to the rigid geometry of the towers. superb light and tones. and excellent balance in the frame. sweet! ps, this never deserved a 3/3 so for balance i give you a 7/7.

you know i love good architecture work. what i like about your work is that you integrate infrastructure as part of the composition. most people would PS out the power lines, but they are there and are a part of the reality of the city. you have made good use of those lines in your composition. i really like the sun flaring off the top of the building. very dynamic. well done.

congrats on getting a photography business of the ground!!! you've come a long way baby. love this abstract impressionist port. the diptych really works with the direction of the eyes. very enigmatic. cheers.

hey Doc, i see in the description this is Charleston??? unless some monumental upheaval has taken place i would say this is in the mountains somewhere. i live in Asheville, NC now and hopefully am about to have a job at UNC. funny thing, i was up at Linville Falls this weekend trying to get a shot as lovely as this, but didn't come away happy. i also dropped my circular polarizer in the rapids :-( anyway, hope to be spending more time here on PN now that i have just finished a book publication for Clemson University on the history of Barns in S.C. take care my friend.

hey buddy, thought i'd start getting active again here on PN. very powerful image. the face being obscured by the leaf is brilliant. excellent work to get the long streaks of the falling rain. simply stunning composition.

groeten mijn Nederlandse vriend. droevig om weg voor zolang geweest te zijn. ik heb een boekpublicatie die me bezig heeft gehouden. ah yes, the ubiquitous Dutch bike stand. very nice diagonal framing. well done. groetjes.

i love the soft pastels with the zone of light going diagonally to dark. a beautiful arrangement my friend. well done.
-
beautiful textures and tones. i don't think you pushed the treatment too far. i has a great gritty feel to it, but not "chunky." my wish is that one of the switches would be in the "UP" position. doesn't matter which one, but i think it would add an interesting dynamic to the shadow pattern.

i like the silhouetted branched raining down on the horizon. beautiful DOF to make the BG soft. lovely light. well done.

you've come a long way baby! awesome scenic Andrew. looking at this and the sunset shots when you first started are night and day. lol. excellent!!!

i guess i've been in the bubble too long. what a nice way to come back to PN!!! sexy and beautiful work my friend. best regards, J.K.

i like how the dark pink fades away to the lighter pinks in the BG. crisp detail. nice off center composition. bright and cheerful. good work.
-
reminds me of the Rolling Stones song "Wild Horses." beautiful equine work my friend. see you in the bubble. J.K.
-
i like the steps up and the doorway left. decisions on which way to go. and the martyr is free. great tones. hope all is well with you and family. take care my friend. J.K.
-
good angle to make the arches work for you as they come in and out the frame. excellent position of the figurehead. most interesting details to examine. perhaps a tad more contrast. take care, J.K.
-
the flare actually works to your benefit. great shadow detail for shooting into the sun. hope you didn't have to climb down this to get the shot :-) well done. J.K.

sweet!!! awesome big sky. the textures and colors are rich and lovely. eye candy my friend. J.K.

tunneling is a great composition tool. you have used it to channel the eye to the picture within the picture. the couple walking away give the human element to this urban scene. good exposure to handle the inside of the tunnel and the outside. really nice work. good luck with your architecture work. keep your eye and mind open. best regards, J.K.

man, if that tree were outside my window as a child, i'd never have gotten any sleep. (like i get any now) super eye to see this as something sinister. cheers, J.K.

the further out you go the stranger it gets. i love how the chains are suspended in air. desert kitsch. and you know mom will tell you to ask your father and then dad will tell you to ask your mother. 6/6 anon.
ps. thanks for your critique on my a-symmetrical lines. i was able to straighten them. i do appriciate it :-)
your friend, J.K.
