    Curious Mule Deer

          5

In the area I live in (West Texas) we've had an explosion in the local

Mule Deer population. They can be seen in and on the outskirts of town

and unfortunately they've become quite tame. I was out shooting a

sunset when this young deer smelled the apple I was eating. I was

able to coax him close enough to get this shot. Fill flash was used to

    compensate for the heavy backlight.

    Abandoned

Combination of three frames, a foreboding sky I shot last night, an

abandoned house in Texas I shot last winter and a vulture I

photographed way back when.NIK filters enhanced the spooky "mystery

novel" feeling I was going for.

    Thanks for your critique!

We had a few thunderstorms pop up late this afternoon which helped set

the stage for a glorious sunset.

The two horses ran when the thunder began and separated but rejoined

    just at the right time.

Actually, this is a portrait of a storm in its death throes. Although it was quite severe early, at this point it was just turning into a mass of heavy rain. It wasn't moving very fast either so I had plenty of time to shoot.

    Thanks for your comments!

I thought I'd repost this image (larger) because some commented that

the image was blurry. In fact it is not blurry and quite sharp. The

clouds themselves are soft and swirling in some area - and not hard

edged - but thats the way clouds are.

    Thanks for looking!

  1. Scan of an slide I have been looking for years. Shot at the Liberal

Airshow in 1995 as the Blue Angels arrived for a show that weekend.

ASA Fuji 400 slide film, pushed processed to 1600 hence the grain, but

I needed the speed. This photo has not been manipulated except for

    adding the frame and text.

Nice shot -- but one minor suggestion. I would have cropped out the the lower "CITIBANK" tier. It's distracting.

    Good capture and lighting though!
