This is like a painting. There is a great deal going on, and plenty to hold interest in that crowd. The image is sharp and clean and well composed. The bright light in the middle is distracting, however.

An absolutely superb shot. Well composed, well exposed and plenty going on.

Is it really 'below average'? If you think so, then please tell me why you think so!

A capture of the Victorian cast-iron footbridge across the East Coast
main railway line at Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Scotland. The clouds in
the top right mirror tha shape and presence of the bridge and
surrounding trees... That was the intention, anyway! Does it work?
Thanks for any pointers and comments.

Hi Robert. There was very little post-processing. I adjusted the levels and curves, and boosted the contrast and saturation very slightly. I cropped it to remove a main road that passes directly in front of it and cloned out a couple of dust bunnies.

A typical Scottish 16th century baronial towerhouse near Loch Leven in
Kinross-shire. The image was captured as the sun was setting.

Hey, it may well be a 'below average' image, but the least you could do is tell me why you think it is!

Taken in the great hall of Huntingtower Castle near Perth, Scotland.
The woman was the Historic Scotland ticket collector who agreed to
dress in medieval costume and pose for us. The only light was that
which came through the window. Hand held shot straight from camera.
