lusobrandane 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Taken in the great hall of Huntingtower Castle near Perth, Scotland. The woman was the Historic Scotland ticket collector who agreed to dress in medieval costume and pose for us. The only light was that which came through the window. Hand held shot straight from camera. Link to comment
lusobrandane 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Hey, it may well be a 'below average' image, but the least you could do is tell me why you think it is! Link to comment
nigel d 0 Posted August 19, 2006 I think you will find what I have found: that asking for ratings on anything with a watermarked copyright notice gets lots of 3/3s. I see no other alternatives that usefully prevents theft. Personally, I think that the people that can't see the picture for the watermark probably can't tell a good picture anyway. I like this picture. It conveys a solitary, sombre mood and a sense of expectation. The lighting is well done, rather than let the camera try to average out the scene, you have allowed the shadows to go dark but emphasized the texture of the stonework. Link to comment
david shelby 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Like very much the soft surreal effect caused by the natural lighting. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 302 Posted August 19, 2006 ...I saw the ratings too, and that's the most unbelievable thing I've seen of the ratings so far. This picture is no doubt a seven seven one! I could hardly wait to come to it (I'm rating in a row, upwards, and saw the thumbnail before I started). And I'm saving my sevens for it all the time. There isn't what to talk about this picture, it talks itself. About the rating, I have one joke photo I requested critique for today. It is about the rating on this respectable site. First thumbnail on my page. Two clicks away. I invite you to see it. By the way it's number one in the top photos! Thanks! PDE Link to comment
