  1. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Communication and would like to

make a career transition to photography. I am an amateur, but would like to

independently learn from scratch and build a portfolio to submit to graduate

    schools.

I am interested in studying in New York or anywhere in Europe as long as the

program teaches in English. Will anyone recommend a good graduate school?

What portfolio tips can you give me for the entrance exam?

    Thank you.

  2. Ok, so I found out more about the charity venue and most of the activities will be done outside in sunlight / a bit of cloud at certain times (it's been kind of rainy these days).

Unfortunately, I cannot go there in advance to test out the shots because it is 3 hours away from where I am and I will be shooting in a village where I can guarantee that there are no professional labs around.

Fuji 400 Pro H seems to be the favorable film and I've called up a bunch of film retailers in town an they are out of stock. I did manage to find one store that sells FUJICOLOR PRO 800 H. Should I go for this and overexpose (how many stops?) to eliminate the grain?

    I won't be using flash.

    Thanks everyone.

  3. I have a basic 35mm SLR - not digital.

I'm planning to take a trip to a charity event.

I will be shooting indoors and outdoors (sunlight/a bit cloudy sometimes).

What film do you recommend that I shoot with? I tried using a slide film before,

but the photos came out a bit too magentaish.

Should I stick with slide or negative?

    Thanks.
