  1. What you see is the reflection a glove on my hand where I'm holding the camera. Photo is taken through the glass front door of this little chapel in the Old City Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA. Thank you for taking time to comment.  All suggestions are appreciated.

So glad you like this one, Tony. Great to hear from you, a great photographer and musician!  We drove to Williamsburg to get these winter photos because the last snow missed us; however,  it looks like we are going to finally have some real photos opts this week in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia.  Rebecca Page Baker

So good to hear from you, one of my favorite PN photographers. This photo was taken on Christmas day in Colonial Williamsburg.  It was also filtered in PS with poster-edge effect. I think this would be a great wreath to make for my kitchen! I may post some more of the natural wreaths that they make yearly to decorate the houses in Williamsburg.

    Thanks for you comments,

    Rebecca Page Baker

Thanks for posting messages on this photo which was filtered in PS to soften the image. I didn't notice the "Clef Bass" abstract until I worked on it in PS.

  2. Jim, this is wonderful! It is rare that the tuba gets so much attention except in marching bands at football games.  My daughter actually played the tuba in her high-school marching band and for her college pep band.  You were there at just the right time to capture this event and the curious tuba player. Wonder what he was saying to the man behind him. The brown suits and cream-colored instruments make this a very visually-appealing photo.  Always enjoy your photos from your latest travels. Thanks for your comment on my recent photo post. Happy new year from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Rebecca Page Baker

  3. Well, you certainly know how to appeal to our creative-side, especially to mine.  Really enjoy this image; thanks for sharing it.  Just thought I should tell you that I'm still on PN but no longer under my "artsy" name "Rebekah B." My husband gave me his former NIKON D70 for Christmas since I've decided to be more serious about my photography. You can still find me on PN under the name "Rebecca Baker" who is still from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where we just received a slight dusting of snow but not enough for great photo opts. Look forward to your always helpful critiques in the future. Happy New Year, Tony

  4. Thanks for your helpful comments on this photo.  I have been on PN for a long time and used to receive many helpful critiques, but since I changed my name from an anonymous "Rebekah B" to Rebecca Baker, I miss comments from my PN friends. So thanks for helping me to get the word out that I still exist and enjoy taking photos with my husband's former NIKON D70. I really enjoyed visiting your portfolio and look sharing photos in the future.

  5. Well, it has been a while since I've been on PN.  I was pleased to see that one of my favorite photographers is still posting great photos. Wow, never tried a "zoom technique." Any suggestions how or if I could do that with my Canon Power Shot. It looks like a layered image.  I think that is what I enjoy doing the most: combining a photo with a fractal. Yes, still enjoying the Math World of images. Just love the unexpected nature of the process.

    Glad to be back,

Rebekah from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, USA

  6. Hi Ross, This image instantly reminded me of Monet's "Plein Air" style of painting which you captured exceptionally well with your camera. Is the circle on the upper left a rain drop on your camera lens.  I might have cloned it out, but I don't think that in distracts from the over-all composition.

This is just a suggestion but I think that this photo is so wonderful that you should post it for ratings.  It would get at least a "6" from me.  Can you share the camera settings you used to capture this powerful image.  Rebekah B.

  7. Thanks for stopping by, Andrey.  I took this photo right before a storm.  Although this was taken in early spring, the Christmas wreaths were still on the doors.  I thought that the cemetery to the right also added to the somber mood.  I saw your recent post of a storm photo which is excellent.

  8. Thanks for taking the time, Tony.I also tried layering with opacity, then used the omni under the filter, Render, which I posted in my latest folder. If we use this for a Christmas card, I may just take out the star.

  9. Now that would be a challenge for me to reverse the sky and star so that this would be a night scene which of course would make sense.   If I figure our how to do that, I will repost this. Thanks, Rebekah B.

    Fern Fantasy

Thanks Tony, This fern photo is actually layered with a fractal; I guess you might have picked up on that.  I still enjoy creating fractal images but most always layer them with photos.  Just saw a recent fractal in the "top-photos" of the week.  Maybe, it is time for a rebirth of fractal creativity! Great composition, texture, and color! Looks like an old mill similar to the ones we have here in Virginia, USA.  Greetings, Rebekah B.

Vertigo would have been a good title. This was a photo layered with a fractal image then filtered with a twist...now, it is time to stop by to see what you are up to. Rebekah
