I hope you had enough paper left on the roll to print the image of this beauty!

    Very nicely done.

The simple idea where semi-transpaernt surfaces meet to make a contrast of dark and light is the simple beauty of this piece.

  1. I am not sure how I came across you work. It looks time consuming. The locale is grungy, but the light source is inviting, so it makes you w3ant o be interested in what goes on in these dark corners.

Your other works don't exhibit this, but the model looks 2D on the wall. There is light behind her hip area and legs. While the shadow can be natural, the wall is darker than she is, then the hall way window cast is shaded by her. just a bit on the composite. I have not read or looked far in your work. I took the time to write as I really LOVE your work. Even with this one blinking questions in my head about its technical aspects making her look composite, it is still a great image.

Looks like you actually do drawing and painting in your work..no?

Cut it just a bit above the first light post, or slightly higher to include the iron work hanging. The way it is looks too lopsided , top heavy, and really lack of subject matter. The repetitious form of the lamps helps our eyes lead to the person, but very distracted by the overhanging darkness blurr of snowflakes to the left. Besides that perhaps the JPG web post compression is the culprit that really hinders the detail work of focus in the white matter, since that is all it has going for it surrounding the massive tree.
  2. I really like this very much.

Only one tech issue is the water reflection on the left side, the white window frame that is leading into the crack can use some distortion or darkening as it is flat on the same plane. This is minor, but worth very much mentioning as it is smack dab in the face. even erasing and a little part of a rockw ould solve this.

    Great work!

  3. First look, I was in a fantasy world and with seconds I questioned it. I looked at the photo I thought the same as Cynthia, the foot prints look too large, but then I thought maybe shallow snow does that?...the size of one wedge in the umbrella is the show size? Dont get me wrong, love the look and concept of the image, but the proportion as Cynthia has noticed gave me the impression of a moment captured not in snow, but in PS. Not that there is anything wrong with that, since I do love artwork such as this, but misrepresentation (not that it is the case here), is an easy self hang. Good work!

I like the balance of open space vs congestion. Very nice image....maybe if there was less foreground, and a little more touch of skyline? not sure. I like this very much. Good work!

I would like to know if this is an actual Polariod as it was shot, or a scanned edited renditon of one. I love about Polariods is that the final is the film out the camera.
  4. the way it is....just kinda cute. I see some potential of warm reflection coming off the cement, but not enough to give the image any warth, (as this cat might be experiencing in the box out of the wetness). The door is also a distraction as you have reflections distracting a calm setting. I have not seen your other works, so I can only comment on this. I take it the Elves have seen your past works, as they picked this image, likely based on your past images that carried some weight. just my humble opinion. In fact I usually don't bother posting on images that don't attracked me, I think the cat got my sympathy. (sounds harsh, but it is only my perspective that follows some constructive criticizm).
  5. As someone mentioned:I am trying to open or click on the image for a larger version, but the thumbnail or maybe it is actual image, is all I can see.

I think the darkness is moody, and the blur in the forefront is ok( something off about it) so your eye is lead to the branch and water contact. As Igor mentioned, it still looks static as the reflection of the mountains are at a different pace (rather static) vs the energy flow touching the branch. It doesn't make sense to me in that regard, but I like the overall dark, cold clammy, feel.

In fact, I like it very much for the potential of what it would look like in Hi res, to see detail in the texture of the sujects and transitions, that is what would make this type of imagery appealing to me. Congrats on the selection.

I think this is an appealign photo, but more painterly quality rather than fashion shoot quality. Also the chin can be darkened a bit more so her jaw doesn't look too large, ideal have lowered the chin slightly during capture.

My monitor is calibrated and I see the background being distracting. It is fighting with her face that is coming into the light.

So the major issues is the dynamic range that I see it in. it looks very shallow. But it might be due to converting for web post.

I like the model, and the look is a bit nutral or cold as some mention with respect to the color influence, but I like her, and her look, and I love the P-kok feathers, due to the style it is , looks more a fantasy cover than any ad quality image.

Other than that, a minor detail, reducing the light on her blondish hair above might focus attention on her eyes, which I dont see any major issues with.
