david shelby 0 Posted July 20, 2007 There are so many nudes posted on P.N. I don't comment very offen on them as the men always give the photo's high scores. natural I guess ! human nature. That being said I am drawn to this image because of the composition, color, perspective and I am sure the time put into capturing a different point of wwomen within her surroundings. This image had alot of thought from the photographer! "excellent" Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted July 20, 2007 What an absolutely stunning model and that mysterious hallway leading off to somewhere foreboding also adds to this terrific photo. Link to comment
philip gleeson 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Its all in the comp. Even if you had put a shrub in place of the model it would still be an excellent shot, well done!!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 20, 2007 Would like to see her just a bit further away. Nitbit. The light on her is hard an could be a tad softer. Otherwise EXCELLENT Link to comment
mark_heseltine1 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Ron, I don't see the point of the model. By itself, the hallway is brilliant. The girl adds nothing but distraction to the surroundings and vice versa. Why this model? Why nude? Why the cigarette? Why the 'Jessica Rabbit' / 'pulp fiction' haircut? What is her predicament? She is no Mona Lisa with an enigmatic look. She is just a seductive euphemism for lung cancer, alternatively, every boy's dream. Likewise, the room yells out for explanation. It exudes a history. Is it death, torture and remorse of someone so close to, yet so far from, freedom? Or, is it children out of class for a brief few moments of freedom and unobserved adventure? Either the model is too strong for the room or the room is too strong for the model. They do not mix. Taken by themselves, the objects of the girl and the hallway are brilliant. ronaldgermeijs 0 Posted July 21, 2007 haha I am glad you have so many questions but you came realy close with your sigaret question ;-) I realy hate smoking and photo's with a sigaret that I make do not have a promo - purpose but at the end I love it when people see their own story in it ... my pictures are just a start ... that's how I see a picture ... mark_heseltine1 0 Posted July 22, 2007 Hello Ron, Hope you were not upset with my comments. Please continue your art. You are very talented. I look forward to seeing more of your photography. I have learnt a lot by simply studying this one photograph. Kind regards Mark Link to comment
andrew_grubb 0 Posted July 22, 2007 Nice work. I agree - "fantastic Japanese model." I like the dichotomy of the smooth perfection of the model contrasting against the flawed, blemished scene. I don't, however, care for the cigarette as a prop. It detracts from the purity (?) of the model. Link to comment
xpxiong 0 Posted August 1, 2007 I like this picture and the model. The picture shows some story to us. But I have a question: If the wall in the background was brushed in Photoshop? If not, why I can see some string above the wall. Commented by Xiong Xiaoping Link to comment
tmjacobs 0 Posted April 2, 2008 I agree with Mark: the photo has some nice (PS-ed, I presume) textures and colors and a moody atmosphere, but the model doesn't fit at all in this mood - both in her expression and the fact that it looks like you excluded her from the treatment you gave the rest of this image. It almost looks as if she's standing in front of a photo instead of being in this hallway. Link to comment
philfx 0 Posted April 14, 2009 I am not sure how I came across you work. It looks time consuming. The locale is grungy, but the light source is inviting, so it makes you w3ant o be interested in what goes on in these dark corners. Your other works don't exhibit this, but the model looks 2D on the wall. There is light behind her hip area and legs. While the shadow can be natural, the wall is darker than she is, then the hall way window cast is shaded by her. just a bit on the composite. I have not read or looked far in your work. I took the time to write as I really LOVE your work. Even with this one blinking questions in my head about its technical aspects making her look composite, it is still a great image.Looks like you actually do drawing and painting in your work..no?
