  1. Back in 1953, I visited the Leitz factory in Wetzler for a 3 day training sesson provided to American troops then......One trick I still carry and use on the old III's and similar models.....instead of using thumb and finger to wind, just place the side of your first finger alongside the knob and pull your hand back running it out to finger tip.....it works great especially when you are grabbing shots in a hurry.......mlm
  2. Its been years,(1956)When I started using Neofin Blu to process Kodak microfilm successor to Technical Pan,for pictorial shots..shooting a shot outside the Base Photo Lab at McCoy Air Force Base, using a Leica, with a 50mm Elmar lens, and blowing it up as high as I could, about 45X. I could count the threads on a bolt on a telephone pole about 200 yards away.....Did the same on a picture of a 4x5 speed graphic at 45X, and could find no apparent grain...mlm
  3. Over the past six months, I have purchased on ebay, 8 each Polaroid 110A's,900's Using the rangefinder/viewfinder on the 900's to upgrade the 110A's to 110B status...Trying to buy a 4x5 graflok back by itself is expensive on ebay, but I have purchased a number of polaroid backed oscilloscope cameras that have the graflok back, a polaroid film pack back, and a fair usage lens, mostly in the 75/80mm size in Ilex shutters...all this for less than the graflok back by itself, when they show up on ebay.....there I have given away my secret, but I have finished making my purchases, Now I am going into the modification mode. I have yet to purchase the CD from Razzle, where he shows you how to do these conversions.....I will then put them up for sale on Ebay. hang tough God Bless
  4. I have 5 9x12 folders, that I purchased on ebay for way less than $50.

I have a couple of voightlanders, Zeiss Ikons, and a certo....One of the voightlanders is in near mint condition, and has a Kalart range finder added at some time after new...It is a professional installation. I am in process of rehabing some of the others that are not in the best of condition....mostly just replacing the leather covering, polishing the chrome, repainting the gloss black paint were it has chipped off..I also have a fair number of single sheet 9x12 film/plate holders and refurbishing them also, repainting mostly, replacing the valour light shields, banging out dents on the film holder and darkslide......Some of the shutters and lenses are in working condition, some not...I will in time send those that need work to Carol Miller in California for CLA...As soon as I get my darkroom built, I will run some film thru each of the cameras, make a nice print and then put them on display with my rather large camera collection....I am 74, a recent widower, so I got lots of time on my hands to do these chores.....I spent 20 years in the Air Force as a photographer, during such time did things from taking photos of a Master Sgt, that walked into a running RC-121 (Connie)propeller to processing under clean room conditions, 9"x 12,ooo film times two cameras from U-2's flown over mainland China, by Tiawanese pilots and later, U-2 photos over south east asia by american pilots during the Vietnam war.........hang tough God Bless
