    Beautiful image, Stephen. Normally I don't favor such a completely centered composition, but the combination of radiating petals, bold center and exposure makes this work quite well.

    Roger is one of my inspirations. I've studied his works repeatedly, asking myself many questions about how he achieves his results. I know that he doesn't favor post processing for his own work and so his shots are "pure." I will use a bit of post processing when I think it's appropriate.

     

    As for the backgrounds, I've made up several different folding boards of different colors for just that purpose. I also carry a silver and a gold reflector with me. I don't do much with fill flash, mostly relying on ambient light to create the look I want.

    This one was another in situ with sunlight shots. I don't do a lot of studio work yet, so most of my florals are in someone's garden or in the wild. This one is also color inverted and hue adjusted to achieve this effect.

    Thank you. I have a couple different versions that don't show the fence as clearly, but I kind of enjoyed the linear pattern they created against the natural curves of the Lilies.
