One small suggestion: The group of deer is basically centered in the frame. I think it would have improved the photo to shift a little to the right, moving the deer to the left and opening up more space on the right, even if it meant cutting off part of the left faun's body. That would give the viewer's eye more room to follow the deer's gaze. You're lucky to have such wildlife in your backyard -- I have to hike for a while to get such images. Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, and for the (unanimous!) recommendation to crop it a little tighter. I'm just beginning to learn how to take pictures, and composition is something of a mystery to me, but I can see what you mean about the space, and after playing with some different crops, I can see how the tighter crop improves the image.

Any comments on the contrast? I normally edit my photos on my laptop, and photos that appear bright and nicely contrasted on that screen tend to be bright and harsh on some other screens. I edited this one on my desktop, which has a very bright, high-contrast LCD, and this image looks really flat on my laptop.

Thanks again for your comments and suggestions. I'm learning a lot!

    Indian Paintbrush

The indian paintbrush in this area were so interesting I had to take a

picture... usually they're deep red, but these were pink and even

peach in color. All suggestions appreciated.

I submitted this previously, but this one is cropped differently. I'd

like to see if people like it more. Comments appreciated.
