During the Holidays, we are all going to have a photo snapped of us that we
will later see and say "I look like THAT?" Do you think the average shot of
you, really looks like you? Do you think that we see ourselves others see us?
I know that I have heard that we are our own worst critics but most people do
feel as though they are above average looking-which,of couse, mathematicllay
can't be true. Hmmmmmnnn...

Dejan! Don't give up! One thinig you could do is join "The Five" a group of people devoted to giving 5 critiques every time they log on. Do a search for "The Five" (use the sites search engine & search just photo.net) and you can put your name on ths list, I will be checking out your portfolio! :>)

I understand, your picture brought tears to my eyes. That event was more horrid than the plot of the most twisted slasher film. It took place about 40 minutes from where I live in Chester County, PA. Those girls in the picture look devestated. Nothing in Lancaster County will ever be the same now that this violence has occured there, to their Amish children.
FYI-The Old Order Amish however, do consider it a sin to have their picture taken

Art is powerful. Look at the intense feeling associated with Art...passion, intensity, inspiration...etc.

To me, trees and old wooden buildings always look better in B & W. People take on an ethereal glow to their skin in B&W and B&W shows us who are willing to see them, the abstract qualities of plants and flowers.

Art is both human and divine. When humans make art we are doing something to show others or sometimes even yourself, a feeling.
Nature is it's own art, we can only capture bits and pieces of it.
Human art is expression.

This is for the peoplewho rated you in the "Rate recent photos" forum. I wish they were identified as well as the people from the Critique Requests Forum, especially when they like to leave 3s with no comments. Usually, if I see a photo that I don't care for there, I just skip it.
