1.
Well there's always Calumet, they'll have heaps. Then there's the pro centre, teamwork and Aperture UK (i'm sure Aperture sell film).
Actually, Calumet were doing a deal on film just before christmas, making it one of the cheapest places in the UK to buy.
Leica format ha! :)

 2.
Just for future reference, if anyone has any trouble with these units, Bowens will no longer service them :(
I'm sorry to say that if you have a problem with an Illumitran you're going to have to find an independent repairer...

 3. Thanks for the response JDM. I've emailed Bowens to see if anyone old enough is left at the company. They might be able to help me out. As for your Honeywell, it looks great. I think they must be most popular stateside as I've never seen one in the UK. I really hope I can get this to work. I'm convinced that it will be the way to go 'scanning' my folders of 120 film with my shiny nikon d800. :)
 4.
Hello all,

I received a Bowens Illumitran I bought on the err "world's largest internet auction site" and I was wondering if an established user could tell me if it's working correctly?
It powers up and flashes on command, but tt seems to click intermittently - the sound being an internal relay, which coincides with the right-hand status light flicking on and off.
Does anyone know if this is normal?
Thanks in advance...

 5.
Hello all,
Could you answer a question for me? I just bought a used 50mm 1.4G lens. When I took it out of the box I was surprised to see the lens fully stopped down. I thought Nikon lenses remained at their largest aperture when removed from the camera. I'm just a little concerned that there's something awry with my copy.

Any ideas?

Thanks

 6.
Hi all, I've been out of the game for some years but recently decided that I'm miserable unless taking pictures.
Some years ago I was a full-time assistant and had some limited connections that could get me, just about affordable, studio hire. I had a few minor publications and was beginning to carve out a good look to my pictures. Now that seems like a stone-age ago and my extended hiatus means i'm back to square one... Wondering how to get started again...

I was wondering if anyone knew of a London or near-London studio that offered affordable testing rates? Also, what are agencies like these days with testing or is it a -gulp- ModelMayhem job these days!

Any advice you guys could give would be gratefully received, unless it's "don't do it!"
