To get the picture I had to get the dog higher than me (so I could
get it to camera height). i also had to get it to look interested
without running off. These were acheived by having my kids (and I)
stand in a deep ditch. The dog is watching them while I took the
photo.
Personally I love this photo as not only is it a great dog (good
subject = good photo) but I also liked the back drop (a house roof
and the sky). The dog against a load of grass would not have worked
so well - I think anyway. I think that the chimney on the house
breaks up the background andthe foliage around the dog gives the
shot a peaceful look.
The original shot was a little dark on the dogs right eye so I have
adjusted it very slightly. The light was a real challenge to this
photo as the dog is mostly while and the backdrop is mostly sky -
hence the under-exposed head but at least the light is coming from
the right direction.
What do you think?

This is a snap of a view I get on the way to work in the morning.
The hill hosts a television transmitter formerly known as Winter
hill. The surrounding countryside is not particulary attractive so
has been darkened slightly via histogram but otherwise the photo is
un-touched. polarising filter was used.
Should I have zoomed? Should it be a totally black silhouette?
Should I have used a grad? What do you think?
Sorry the photo isn't very original or special - I'm new to this so
absolutely all comments appreciated.

This photo says family to me. I like the composition and simplicity of it. I also like the way the right is leaning in toward to child in a kind of protective manner.
Was that the idea or am I reading too much into it?

Old Man mountain over Conniston water
in Landscape
Posted
Taken in rather poor weather on Tuesday afternoon about 3/4 up Old
Man fell overlooking Conniston.
Slightly adjusted the colours as it was a little overcast but
otherwise untouched (although a little cropped)
