1.
Hello Ian,

I'm die-hard Kodachrome user for very long time. Use your first roil to get exact feel of your metering system. If you will primarily use your chromes for projection use ASA 80 setting for scanning ASA64 will do better because your shadows wont be that dense. Use any lens you want. I personally prefer wide angle shooting.

I have very soft spot for Kodachrome in my heart. It is just different then anything else available to as. Probably you know Kodachrome will not be around for long. Just load it up and do some shooting. It will suit your stail of photography just perfect.

Shooting Kodachrome (and film in general) keeps me honest and humble. I’m accountable for every frame. I don’t want to waste any of them.

I'm Nikon guy since 1987 since I've got FE2 but for Kodachrome I use exclusively Olympus OM equipment. You guys think NAS is hard on you? I'm zuikocholic also. This is hard. And I enjoy every moment of it.

Ill us it as long Kodak makes it. It may not be for long anymore. Buy and try it if you can .

00S8vB-105572484.JPG.6696300b5ef9404324b89e06b479714f.JPG

Lex - count me as second zuicoholic on Nikon board with serious uncurable case of NAS. (for 22 years). OM system still rocks to me but digitally it's strictly Nikon.

00S7hg-105317684.JPG.42225ccfc7c941c84bbd3346ba1f3c99.JPG

 4.
I did not press the shutter even once last week but I'm going trough my UV work from 2008. The one of them is bellow. Taken with unmodified D40 + UV Tochigi Nikkor 105mm + Vis/IR cut out filter. I hope you'll like it. Personally I'm starting to grow tired by limitations of Nikon NX for RAW UV conversion. It is time to think about new RAW converter strictly for UV but witch one?

00S71Z-105191784.JPG.29c76bf132096065a59e0ee54268284c.JPG

 5.
I’m also old school guy. No AF lenses needed for this style of shooting for me but VR would be beneficial. Always hand held, chasing bees, butterflies beetles and dragonflies. It gives me more flexibility. Camera is always set at highest frame rate. Most often I do 4 –5 frame burst. Watch your background. Always getting some keepers.

00Ruiw-100965884.jpg.43a331908704dbbccbcf5e2913dadd51.jpg
