BH Photo has a nice series they did on HDSLR Video by a guy who uses 5D and 7D's to shoot commercials and music video's. Although I will never use my 7D for such adventures(yet), it was still great info. He talks about the shutter settings like Jamie mentioned.
Great pics! I am lucky to be the second owner of one of these, my father being the first. He got is for ~83 dollars at a PX in Seoul in 1953. If you look under my profile on here, you will see I have posted a few pics in both B/W and Color. The colors are amazing.
Here is one of my earlier posts-

I have the Sigma 50 f/2.8, and I agree, it is a steal for such a great lens! Very sharp! I have to agree with Jeff.

I leave my FD 35-105mm f/3.5 90% of the time, I also have a Tokina ATX 24-40mm f/2.8 I use on it to when I am in a city like Chicago. Enjoy the camera, it's great.

I went last fall with my Canon T90, and a 24-40,, f/2.8 Tokina ATX zoom. I had some Kodak 400UC film and the new 100 Ektar. I can tell you, I am happy I had the 24-40 zoom, because the wide end is what I shot with most for the buildings. Have fun, and enjoy Chicago....

What you are experiencing is how quickly your 7D has become obsolete. I will gladly take it off your hands for 100 bucks. No seriously, Call Canon right away, like the fellow posters have said. The issue is probably know to Canon already.

I have the 17-50 f/2.8 Tamron, and I love it. I use it for everything. I also have the 50 f1/1.8, a EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and the EF 70-300is. I have the 40d, and got the 17-85mm IS kit lens with it. I felt it was a little soft, so I traded it for the 100mm Macro. Then I bought the 17-50mm after reading a lot of glowing comments on it. I love the lens. It is sharp, and I take 90% of my shots with it.
I would keep it.

I have this same lens, and I think it is one of the best they ever made. Of course, I don't have any L lens to compare to. Great job and great find!

Thanks for the comments, I remember reading your posts on the Soligor lens, but hard to find it. I did find one on shopgoodwill.com, but it went for a little to much, but it was a few years ago. I got this Tokina for a really good deal, it even came in the nice box they have for it. I am glad I brought that lens, I never really realized on how much a wide zoom like that would come in so handy in the city.
Thanks for the nice comment.
For Digitizing, I use Walgreens to print and make a disk for me. I used Picasa 3 a little for some post processing. But not much. I think the Tokina is a great lens, but I was not using any filters on it, i.e. UV, Haze, or Polarizer. Walgreens disks include TIFF files, which are nice for some nice post processing abilities and larger files. These where uploaded off the ~1mb .jpg files on the disk.

I too use Lithiums in all of my camera's, flashes, etc, both young and old. With no adverse effect. Plus they are 30% lighter, which was great when I had 12 of them in my Winder MA on my A-1. By the way, they lasted over 2 years in that winder, I sold the winder and used the batteries in something else.

I have a beat up Vivitar Series 1 28-90, and it was seperating between the tube and apeture area, so I used JB weld with good results, anyway, long story short, very capable piece of glass, but I also have FD 35-105 f/3.5 that i like better.

I have the Vivitar Q-Dos Series 1 lens and love it. I just started to play with it, I agree on the long end its a little soft, but from 70-around 180 it's very sharp, plus the 3D thing is really cool.

Tokina 11-16, 12-24 or Canon 10-22?
in Canon EOS Mount

I have the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC, and it is a wonderful lens. I too try to stick to Canon, but they really out priced themselves. I was able to pick mine up for less than 400 a year ago.
I find nothing objectionable in this lens, but I don't really pixel peep either. I have used it in Death Valley with no problems, and my brother is using it all across the USA, and has had no issues with it, just great pics.
