1.
Yes...still use slides for personal work....processing takes a week turn around as I live in the south of Spain and have to have it sent to either Madrid or Barcelona. A roll of 36 processed cost €3.50 and 120 costs me €4.75...sales tax included. For 4x5 I get great results from a lab in Madrid....cost €6.90.....they don't charge for pushing or pulling. Still have a freezer fall of Fuji and Kodak in the 3 formats...and top up from suppliers in China...with delivery within a week and the Euro being stronger than most currencies in the area

 2.
Hi all...forgive if the question has already been asked.....a friend has just picked up a mint condition Contax 645...with 2 film backs. 1 is for 120 film..the other is for 220 film. Wanted to know if he can use 120 film in the 220 back...as he has loaded a roll but the camera refuses to function...and yes he has turn it on.
Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

 3.
Hi all,
Please forgive if this question has been asked before...however I have a friend who has just purchase an RB with an assortment of extras. One of the things that has come with the camera....and which is still in its box is a sheet film holder (metal). I am a LF shooter and therefore know what the film holders are...but I have not seen one of this size nor do I know what size film it would take...120???? cut into sheets????
The box this dark slide was in is marked Mamiya RB Double Cut Film / Plate Holder Type J. Apart from the dark slide there is also a black metal plate. Apart from the Film size which I would gather has long since disappeared...what attachment if any would be needed to use the dark slide on the camera body.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 4.
Thank you John and Peter for your comments. I have, a new, still in the box, completely un used CPA 2 as a back up unit but nevertheless have taken into account your comments in regards to power supply etc....
The phototherm is something that I have looked into as well...and perhaps I should have mentioned that my idea stems from the fact that there is a current demand for this E-6 service in the area I live in. The interesting thing is that chem supplies are not a problem for the moment as one of the stores which I will be offering this service to can get the chem in regularly.
Basically, from the research I have done in my area, it is too much of an issue to get 'back into' processing e-6 by the establish businesses, but they feel that if some one can offer a type of custom service, with a shorter turn around time, that they would be interested in. In regards to chem disposal, that has been addressed and all local health and OHS requirements as well according to Spanish Law.
Nevertheless thak you for your comments and advise.
5.
Hi there,
I am currently doing an investigation into offering an E-6 process in my area. I have a Jobo CPA-2 with several different tanks and have found that the local E-6 service that most fotoshops offer in my area can take anything up to 1 month to have the film processed and returned.
Looking into the matter, the startup in regards to the amount of rolls I would receive from these shops would vary between 10 to 45 per month - so far this is only from 4 outlets out of the 35 in the area - my service being one that would have the film back within 3 days to 1 week and not the month + that is currently on offer and maintaining the some price if not a little lower.
I have checked with the local foto shops in the area and in most cases sales of slide film is on the increase, the downside going by the feedback from the shop owners is the length of time it is taking to have the film processed.
I am currently finalising my costings etc....but my question is....has any of you run a 'niche' service as such in your local area, in this case E-6 processing with the use of a Jobo. What has the reception being to your offer and is the demand constant, decreasing or increasing as the word or your advertising spreads.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts
6.
I managed to pick up a box of Pola 57 iso 3000 which was outdated from 2007 from the guys at the Impossible Project. I have a Toyo 4x5 with a pola back and I shoot it at the rated iso. I am enjoying the results that I am getting from this film, although Polaroid is a film that I have used often...in the colour range. I don't know if as an option you may want to have a look at any of the Fuji instant film that may be availabe if the Pola is hard to get or too costly, in the 4x5 format and that may be easier to get then the Pola.

 7.
Although I am not familiar with this type of tank nor holders, I do remember that I use to lift the holder out of the tank at the required moment and tilting it to the left then re dipping the holder back into the tank and lifting it out once again and tilting it to the right. I must admit that this method was used with a single sheet holder to the required periods of development and agitation.
The tilting effect would cause, in theory, the fluid to run off faster. From what I see in the pic...this may be applicable to this holder.
8.
Thank you so much Matt...will post the finished shots once I get a chance....I intend to use the film, after taking on board advise, at the rated speed. The subject matter will mainly be typical Spanish towns with narrow streets...so there will be plenty of shade at best..
Once again thanks

 9.
@ John...thanks John for the info...the developer is still very much a liquid in the containers. I take it that I would need to wipe the liquid onto the print as soon as I peel it apart.
@Michael...yes my intentions are to do that, but am I wrong to think that rating the film at 1500 instead of the 3000 and only use it in low light conditions would be the way to go?

 10.
Hi all,
Have searched for info re this type of film with very little results, as I have been given a unopened box which has been kept in the fridge... dated 07/07 rated at ISO 3000.
First things that come to mind was the use in low light conditions and also being out of date I have read that perhaps rate it at ISO1500. Apart from that I have never used it before hand and would like any ones help re the use and what is in the small plastic containers containing liquid and marked with 'For B/W Film Only' that come with the film...no doubt to finish of the processing...but in what way. I have used Polaroids before hand...but not this film.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and forgive me if my request has already been addressed.
11.
Hi Ryan,
This reminds me of an similar setup I had to do so many years ago whilst at uni.....this I belive was called the 'Bright Field' set up compared to the Dark Field which would have a dark or black background which may help ....in this event if the clients permits it.
Nevertheless I would begin by placeing 2 pieces of black card on either side of the bottle...thus giving the sides some shape as this will cause the edges of the bottle to take 'shape'.
I would by all means light the background seperately...as to the label...if I remember correctly I used a 'snot' attachment which serves as a narrower beam on the flash and having a large sheet of difused material or tracing paper in front of the flash unit so as to not have a specular highlight on the glass surface facing the camera.
Shooting on a black background does make the bottle's edges stand out more clearly...if I am not mistaken and you have the time...I believe there is a chapter in Light Science & Magic which may help you further.
regards
12.
To Ellis.....yes she was 18 at the time....although she provided documents showing she was 22.
To David....I have taken on board your comments and although I agree with what you have mentioned...the shots were taken not as an art session...but more of a soft erotic one which is what she and I had agreed on before hand.
I have no relationship with this girl as she moves in different circles to me and the session(s) which in total there were 3, were all to her liking at the time. There was only 1 session in which she appears semi naked. I am a little pi off with her mainly because I have found out that she has pulled this stunt with others in the past and due to her inexperience believes that she can tell photographers what they can or not publish after a certain amount of time has passed. I do however find that her current state of pending motherhood to be simply a ploy...as I have already mentioned she has full frontal images on other sites of which she has not approached the authors of those works. I agree its not worth the hassle...but due to her background....I am in two minds as to whether its time that some one teach her the realities of her actions...have consequences...and that she may be used to playing games with others...but I am drawing the line.
Once again thank you all for your comments...I will make up my mind by weeks end.
Artur

 13.
Thank you all for your comments. Have taken on board much that you have mentioned. In general my release is one of those all encompassing as such and which she gladly signed after the session was finished. My relationship with her was and is solely one of model/photographer as I have not seen her since the session which was back in May of this year and that at the time of viewing the shots afterwards she commented that she enjoyed the session and loved the shots.
I am not making or loosing any money from these shots and I take what you have said on board in regards to making friends and not enemies in this day and age and the harm that comments can make. I suppose in hindsight she is signally me out as according to her partner...I have been the only photographer that had been honest and informative to her about her modelling aspirations. The fact that she is now expecting a child; I feel has had a great impact on her...and her family from what I have now heard.
Nevertheless, thank you all for taking the time and imput.

Regards

 14.
Hi all,
Just want to put this out to all, simply to get some feed back and perhaps a different persepective. I am currently being hounded by a model that wishes that I remove her images from my web and any other web including this one where her images appear.
I have a signed model release signed by her in agreement to the sessions and all the terms and conditions, which are pretty clear and that she understood and agreed to.
Her request...simply because she is expecting a child.....the dilemma...she is only 19....a fact that she lied about and provided ID at the time of signing indicating that she was 22 which was when the shots were taken. I am located in Spain and by law she is an adult at 18. I do not consider the shots taken to be explicit as such...a sample can be seen in my file..the shot titled 'Fishnet Escape'.... as part of the series.
Has this ever happened to any one else...and what actions did you take....any points of view are appreciated.....oh one final thing...she has more explicit full frontal nudes with other photographers on other sites...whom I have contacted a couple to find out that she has not requested their work be removed as she consider those shots as...art.....
Thanks in advance
Artur

 15.
Hi Rico,
Not that difficult to do really.....the method is called Panning where I come from. Simply put you keep the subject focused as you 'pan' the camera in the direction of the movement so as to keep the subject sharp...but the back/foreground blurred. Going by the pic...I would say that the photographer paned the camera from right to left. The effect is more pronounced as the speeds get higher....like perhaps F1 racing.

 16.
Hi Lubos,
I have used and own a bellows for my ETRSi, although I must admit it has been some time ago. Please email me as to what you need to know about the bellows as I have mainly used it with the 75mm.
17.
Hi Peter,
I may be wrong but I was in the market for some FP 100 and after placing a comment in one of the threads here, I was advised that the FP was incompartable with the Polar back....I have since purchase a Fuji back for the film. Take a look through some of the threads in the film section where instant film is mentioned...there you may find the answers if no one points you in the right direction.
Regards
