1.
I am a film shooter using 4x5 camera. I have not had any issues, but recently some of photographs appear to experienced light leak. The puzzling part is that there are on some but not all.
The film is TMax 100 and the images were shot using 250mm Rodenstock Sironar N. The light leak appears on lower 1/3 of the film when viewed horizontally. One shot has the same problem, but it is a vertical shot.
I have tried to trouble shoot it myself but have not observed anything different.
I am not sure how to post the photos for everyone to see and maybe someone has an answer to this issue.

  2.
Which lenses are considered flat field lens? What is a typical designation on any of the major lens makers such as Schneider, Rodnestock, Nikon and so on?

  3.
I would recommend Nikon FM2. I have had this camera since 1984. It is the workhorse of the industry. It is a fully manual camera. It does not need a battery to operate (except for the light meter), so it won't die as easily as those cameras that require battery power for operation. I have taken the camera to fairly extreme weather conditions. I recently have taken it to the shop for replacing the film pressure plate and have not required any thing else other than every once in a while of just cleaning.

  4.
I used to shoot with Kodachrome almost exclusively, but that was back in the 80's. Once I started shooting with Fuji Provia and now with Provia 100F and occasionally with Fuji 64T, I never went back to Kodachrome. The Fuji films, in my opinion, have a great color rendition and as an added bonus they have a UV layer that protects the film from fading. Kodak claims that their Kodachrome lasts a very long time, but the conditions is that you keep it in storage in a dark area...what good does it do if you cannot put it on a light box or in a slide show.
Since it has been a while that I have not shot with Kodachrome, I don't think I could make a valid comment, but from what I remember is that Kodachrome would be something close to Provia but a bit warmer.
I am also a film shooter and shoot in 35mm and 4x5 and loving it. Maybe one day I switch to digital but not near soon.

  5. I recently purchased a Turner-Reich Anast. F6.8 Series II lens, which

can be mounted on a Copal 3 shutter. Depending to the mounting

position on the shutter it could be used as 21-inch or 28-inch lens.

Can anyone tell me what could I expect from this lens and its

performance? I understand that this is not a high quality lens like

today's lenses, but I like to know a bit more. What is this lens

best suited for? Has anyone shot with this type of lens?

I shot several 4x5 sheets just today, but haven't seen the results

yet. I will post my findings as soon as I get a chance.

  6. I use a 4x5 Sinar F. I like to traval as light as possible and

    generally shoot landscape.

I am looking for a lens, something in the range of 360mm to about

450mm. I prefer not to carry the big lenses that Nikon offers. Last

time I rented Nikon's 400mm lens, the lens appeared too heavy on the

    12-inch extension rail.

There are so many lenses with so many suffixes that is pretty

confusing on which one does what. Could any one recommend any lens

that is not very heavy and yet be easy to focus?
