    Popo Pushin' It

          1

Popo heading up the last switchback that isn't behind cattle gates on

Brasstown Bald. He's just ahead of Floyd and Tommy D. I'm actually

wedged between the bars on some cattle gates and am leaning out into

the road to get this shot.

  1. Dave Zabriskie lost a lot of time on the Brasstown Bald climb - a

climb that reaches a 22% grade at points and is hard enough to walk

up. It ultimately cost him the third position on the podium. It was

    fun to watch though.

The '06 race was my first stab at shooting cycling - I've been a fan

for a while now. I learned a lot over the 4 days I was there.

    Thanks for your comments.

I think you nailed it on this one! Your "Criterium" shot was good indeed, but I absolutely love the energy of this one. Keep the bike shots coming; you just made my favorites list.

I'd pay good money for this shot and hand it on my wall if Hincapie was leading the pack. ;)

FYI, I'm disappointed that someone gave you a "4" rating for this without giving you some critical feedback. Shame on them.

I like the shot and the selective blur. Since Floyd is in focus, I would rather see all of him. I guess that's all the frame you've got though? Maybe blur him out too? As a fan, I'm drawn to him and am distracted that he's partially out of the frame.

Is that Kloden at center? And who's the Discovery rider, Danielson?

A very exciting photo for me - coming from more of a cycling fan's perspective than a photographer. I also like the camera guy in focus - it adds to the intensity for me.

I'm going to the Tour de Georgia in 3 weeks and am looking forward to some live racing! Thanks for the stimulation!

    Busted!

I know it's not the most dramatic background, but I couldn't resist

his pose. When I got my new Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 in the mail on

Wednesday I busted this guy from my front porch. This little punk and

all his cousins really drive up my bird food bill. I'm glad this guy

is actually eating food off a tree for once though!

I've been playing with my new Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and caught this guy.

I've cropped away quite a bit because he wouldn't let me get too

close, but I'm pretty happy with this new lens.

  2. While you're looking, see which Easter Portrait in my portfolio you like better. We're putting 2 in our Easter cards. As it stands now, the first Easter Portrait and Easter Flower photos. I'd like to hear your input if you have a different preference. Thanks!
