  1. I have a Canon 10D that worked fine for a little over a year, than I

started getting Error 99's. You click the shutter button and nothing

happens except an odd sounding click, and the "error 99" blinking in

the LCD. At this point the camara is usless until you turn it off

and than back on. This became more and more frequent until now I

just can't depend on my camara any more. The problem, with my camara

seems to have nothing to do with lens contacts or the memory card.

I have search several message boards, and it seems that this this

Error 99 thing is not that uncommon with Canon DSLR's.

I am wondering if there is a similar problem with Nikon, or any of

the other DSLR's. I am trying to decide whether to pay to get this

thing fixed, or just buy another camara or both. I have heard that

getting an error 99 problem fixed can be quite expensive. If I opt

to buy a new camera should I switch brands? Any openions on this?

    Thanks:

  2. I never did enough color printing in the darkroom to get any sense

of how much it cost to do it on a regular basis. I print at least

three or four days out of the week on my 1280. I use mostly Epson

Matt Heavyweight and Ilford Classic pearl, with Epson inksets. Does

digital printing cost more or less than an equivelent amount done in

    a wet darkroom?

    Thanks

  3. I use Avery Matt White Business Cards #27881. I get mine at CompUSA, and Sam's Club. They print excellent images and text from my Epson 1280. I set it for the same settings as for Epson Matte Heavyweight. I use CorelDraw 9 to design the cards by opening a new page at the size of the Avery cards 2"X 3 1/2". I pick a font wright my text, than import an image, size everything than print according to the directions provided by Avery using their recommended template which is installed in CorelDraw, and maybe in Illustrator. I always put an image on my card, and sometimes my wife laminats them. The image and the text are moveable seperately or together. When you want to change the image just delete the old one and import another, you can adjust the text as you see fit, but it's still the same text.

I always give a few cards to each paying customer with one of their images featured. They pass them out, and sometimes come back for more. I make them as I need them, and carry them around in a little leather business card folder from OfficeMax, or Staples. Be sure to get a release unless they go only to the person who's image is on the card.<div>009PiJ-19530384.JPG.cf4f92a7f32a2230edc873bcf4a4fb99.JPG</div>

  4. Love this plun-in. Converting to black and white, with just the right effect takes some time to do. The example would have taken quite a bit of fiddling, but with the plug-in I pulled if off in a snap, with just a little tweeking.

Got the plug-in to work in Photoshop, but I use Corel Photo-Paint9 most of the time, and could not get to run in that program. Any suggestions?<div>009Cfh-19235284.jpg.92749d6a3350b59b3bb1c48222182e37.jpg</div>

  6. "The obvious solution would be to reload the Photo-Paint 12 trial version, open the files you created with it, and save them in either version 9 (or earlier) format, or in a common format such as TIFF."

Once you have downloaded the trial version, and used it for the 30 day period, before it stops working, you can not download and install it again. There are probably ways to hack around that, but I am not a hacker.
