1.
I have the two prime option. I love very small lenses. I tried out the 20-40 and it just felt too big compared to either the 21mm or 40mm. (I also have the 15mm and 35mm macro limited). As far as the motor drive, I think they have fixed that problem in their newer lenses.

 2.
The X-5 looks just like a K5 from a few feet away and will get you into the same trouble. You really need something that looks not that different then a iphone if you want to be left alone. Something like the Olympus TG-820 with the silver finish might work. Or a weird color combination on a Pentax Q7 series camera. If it's pink and blue it can't be a pro camera can it?

 3.

The rules have been like this for decades. There was a time when using any camera that took 35mm film (a pro-film size) was banned. They looked the other way when you were using a disc or other very small camera like the pocket 110 cameras of the time. That is why I go myself a Pentax 110 SLR. I still have it and it yields more than acceptable results. Not like my my K5 but very nice to my eye. But then again I know what to expect from it and use it on shots that I know will work well with it.

 4.
Ilfor says on their web site:

 5.
Charles has good advice. The temperate compensation chart is OK for approximate (average) results. If at all possible develop at a tested published time since not all film developer combinations work for this average chart. Some developers and films need more of less time than the average given by this chart. If your developer is 70F and the published time is 68F just put the bottle in fridge (or bowl of cold water) for a few minutes while you get your film in the tank and set up. Then use it when it hits 68F. If room temp is about 70F the developer is 68F the temp will rise during development but very little. If it is 68F going into the tank I find it is less than a half degree warmer coming out of the tank after development.

 6.
I agree, "The film ecosystem in many areas has collapsed".
So here is what I have to offer.
All these labs are sill in business and have current as of 4-5-2013 web sites.
http://www.apug.org/forums/forum40/116941-list-mail-order-film-labs.html
That is all the time I have to spend on this issue. If anyone wants to maintain a list of current labs let them step forward and do so.

 7.
Well who else can say something about a mail order lab?
Let us make this post a resource for people looking for labs that are still out there doing quality work.
Even if you have not used a lab but know it exists just post a link so we know it is out there.
I know more than a few of the labs I have used in the past are no longer in business.
We hear too much about what is gone with film photography.
Lets talk about who is out there still working for us.

 8.
I just did a quick search and found another lab that I never tried.
http://fromex.com/mail-order-film-processing.html
Looks like there are LOTS of labs that will let you mail your film in. For people that do not have local service in town any more (like me) perhaps you can find a lab close to you. That way the film will only be in a the mail a day or so each way. I know when I dropped my film at the local lab I often did not go back and get it any sooner than that.

With the price of gas today I might even consider mailing my film to a lab on the other side of town.

 9.
It is still made Kodak just changed the bottle size and so the old stock number does not work any more.
B&H also caused and Xtol scare the same way a few months ago by saying it was discontinued.
That was also false.
