1.
Hey folks, I do have experience around horse both with a camera and in general, I havent gotten all the details on the event yet so I am not sure what the organizers are looking for in respect to photos, was just asking to see what others think is fair pricing.

 2.
Hey folks, I was asked to photography a three day quarter horse show, I was wondering if A. if you know where I could find some professional images from a show? And B, what would you charge for a three day event like that? I have my own ideas, just want to see what others would charge. Thanks!

 3.
Oh I wasnt dissing Canon, more so Sigma, its just that, if I need a new body anyways, and am not pleased with my lenses that I currently have, this would be a good time to switch platforms if I was so inclined. I am doing my research, part of research is asking the folks that use the products that you are interested in is if they are happy with them.

 4.
I am considering switching from Canon to Nikon, I shoot canon right now, with sigma lenses and am NOT happy with the results I have been getting, My camera is on its last legs as well so I am considering my options. Just from poking around on the net they seem less expensive then Canon (I at looking at used gear to start), any tips? Whats a good model, I dont need top of the line pro yet (I wish!) but want something better than consumer grade. I am not familiar with the Nikon models/lenses. Thanks!

-jared

 5.
I worked as a newspaper photographer for 3 years and I never asked permission to photograph someone, I found that if you did it took something away from the photo. Made people aware of the camera and often they would react differently. I would always go up to them afterwards and get their information, I can only think of one time someone didnt want their photo taken, only they didnt tell me :) When I asked for their names they said Fred and Eythl Mermon.... Ok I am an 80's kid I didnt get the reference right away, my editors had a good laugh at me.

But there are times where it is apporpriate to ask permission first and the one occasion that springs to mind are Native American pow-wows. You should never just snap a photos of the dancers in their regalia, always ask permission first. Its a cultural thing.
I dont think you were out of line with your photo though.

 6.
Hey Folks, I have here a ICA folding plate camera. I believe it is a Trix 183 due to some light stamping on the leather handle. Its in great shape, it was brought back by my grandfather after WW2. There is one slight issue with it, there are two peices you push inward to unfold the camera, one of them on mine is frozen. Any tips on how to un stick it? I attached a photo indicating the stuck part. So do I have it right? Trix 183? Thanks folks.

 7.
Hey I have been asked to do the same thing before, headshots for a summer youth theater camp. I used the stage lights they had and the stage curtain as a back drop with great results. So if thats all you have it should work (depending on the quality of the theater's lights) As for photographing as the kids re-hearse when I did this I wouldnt use a flash depending on the light. Good luck.

 8.
I have about 8 boxes of bulk tri x that came from the newspaper I used to work at, it had been sitting in their dark room and hadnt been touched since they switched to digital back in 2000. I've used it and have had no problems, it tends to be a bit grainy but I like that.
