I have a SunPak Auto 244 D flash that is dedicated for Nikon cameras. I've only used it on an
FE2. I want to use it on a N6006 but before I do I need to know if the flash will work okay. I
don't have a manual for the flash or the camera. Does anyone know if the flash will work
safely and provide Automatic TTL flash with the N6006?

Hello and thanks to everyone for the information. The batteries were dead so I put in fresh batteries and turned the dial to M250 and the mirror released as you advised. I searched high and low for my FE2 manual and finally found it. There is info on page 32 that describes what happens when the batteries go dead- mirror locks up. It's been a long time since I used it, last year I guess. I've been using my D70 since then and thought it would be fun to take some pics with film and enjoy that feel of an FE2 in my hands. Happy shooting!

I was clicking away with my FE2 and the mirror locked up (raised
position). I put in new batteries but that's not helping. Any ideas?
I was checking it over to have it ready for some Christmas day
shooting. Any help would be most apprciated.

Blake, Thank you for posting your picture, I like it. The title 'Fallen Angel' is up to interpretation from ones personal view. I see/feel it as the 'Angel' is firmly anchored to the ground, not floating out in the ether. Keep on click'in.

I'm not familiar with which type of contacts the SB-11 has whether they be solid posts or the spiral spring type. This may not apply to your flash but I have cleaned the solid type contacts on motor drives by taping some fine 180 grit sandpaper to the end of a long dowel and rubbing and spinning the dowel gently to clean of the corrosion. I've rescued many a motor drive this way. Another thought would be to get a sanding sponge and cut a small peice off and secure it to a dowel and it would conform to the shape of the post. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

Get a Nikon FM and teach the fundamentals of exposure etc. first.
Just be sure that sinister forces are not conspiring to pull you to the the dark bleak side of....Canon :0 Deprogramming may be required ;)

Dot, You must have the Nikon 24-120mm.D PMS version. Don't force the focus.

Regarding the above post, is it item #75****7928? Looks nice. I have not shot with this lens but prefer fast primes for concert/stage work.

Thanks for the info so far. I don't know the history of these lenses as I aquired them in a lot of photo gear at an estate sale this past weekend. I'll wait a bit more to see if any one else has some more info before I get out the pipe wrench :O Coop

Hi, I have a Nikon 24mm. f/2.8 and a 28mm. f/2.8 both AF non-D
Nikkors. Both lenses will not focus either manually or in Autofocus
mode mounted on a camera. I have tried with a F100 and N90s. The focus
rings don't turn when they are off a camera too. They are just locked
up. I tried gently turning the focus screw (where the focus shaft from
the camera body would go) on the lensmount with a screwdriver and they
are stuck. There isn't any visual damage on the exterior of the lenses
and all the contact pins are clean and spring back when pressed down.
Any ideas as to the cause of this and are these lenses repairable? I
live in Minneapolis, anyone know of a good repair shop?
Thanks, Robert

Does anyone know what serial # the first Nikon D200 started with? For
reference I was lucky enough to pick up my D200 today, fresh off the
truck. My D200's serial # is 30080**. I'm trying to get an estimate
on the number of D200's sold so far. TIA
