Oh yes. This is very nice and I like your interesting interpretation of the subject.

This reminds me of the Spanish-American War of 1812.

  1. This picture reminds me of the short story 'Leiningen versus the ants,' in which killer ants destroy a plantation by crossing the Rubicon on leaves. The plantation workers try to discourage this by drenching the little buggers in Petrol, but that runs out and basically they are screwed. As opposed to this picture, it's one of the worst short stories ever. On the other hand, this picture isn't quite a short story. But it could be, if you think about Leiningen.

    Great job!

  2. Cat,

I'm not really sure what's wrong with this shot. I feel as though something isn't right, but I can't put my finger on it. I suppose the question is: what is the central focal point of this photo? There's a lot going on, with the skeleton (?) the grafitti and the woman. I'm not sure which one to focus my attention to. There is something wrong about the woman in the picture. Was this set up? If so, I think she needs to be doing something else. Just my opinion though. At the same time, I really like this picture.

  3. Kurt,

I really like the POTENTIAL of this scene. I am discouraged because I can't see everything going on. It's simply too dark. I understand the mood of the place may be 'dark.' Smokey perhaps, a small grungy bar...but I would suggest throwing your camera on a tripod (if you didn't already) and perhaps increasing the aperature.

    I love the idea.

    Just my opinion.
