Unless it's posted that you can't do it (or the parking lot is closed) you can probably take photographs until you're told to leave.
Sometimes security or police will try to take your film to see if you're doing anything naughty (like being a peeping tom, corporate espionage, etc.). If you're shooting digital, of course, it's a bit easier to show what you've been doing and talk your way out of it.
The trails of lights from landing airplanes make for an interesting sky in night photos, by the way.

Jurgen has a shade and filter set for these cameras for sale on ebay right now -- <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Agfa-Isolette-Voigtlander-Zeiss-37mm-filter-Hood-set_W0QQitemZ7601090218QQcategoryZ11717QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">here.</a>

That dr5 list isn't even a complete list of what's available now -- it left off all the fortepan and fomapan 400, plus a couple of fuji films at the very least.

Ouch, gotta post a warning about the color of that website for the show in Wayne . . . my eyes are bleeding!

Hey, I'm waiting for a red covering to arrive from cameraleather for my XD now -- it's nice to see how it'll look in advance.
-
Ha, mine had the endemic problem when I bought it 16 years ago . . .

I managed to fix an XD-11 with shutter lag by following these instructions, which you might consider trying on the XD-5 (you'll need some Ronsonol and a small screwdriver):

Actually that's overexposed, it should turn out pretty good. I've done Tri-X @ 100 in D-76 1+1 for 8 minutes, you could try that or maybe 8:30 -- this will reduce the contrast quite a bit so ymmv.

From your fingerprint comment, it sounds like the oil from someone's finger may have etched the coating on your 28mm lens. Although my understanding of the Soligor lenses is that they're probably worth about $10 now anyway (the value and quality is in Minolta-branded lenses except for the rare "legendary" third-party lens). Not a great loss if that's truly a Soligor.
I think there's an adapter/teleconverter for use of the MC and MD lenses on autofocus cameras (Maxxum/Dynax). I'm not sure of the quality though. The X-700 was Minolta's latest and greatest manual focus IIRC.

I've used Fomapan 100 (actually Arista.Edu Ultra 100, which is the same thing) in 35mm with good results. Just be aware it is somewhat more prone to scratching than some other films -- I have a problem camera that I can't use it in, this may or may not be an issue depending on how you develop your 4x5.

How did this discussion go from the contents of film emulsions to eating vegetarians?
-
Wow, and I thought the guy who told me that story was full of it. Now I know to file it under "strange but true."
-
Funny story -- someone once told me that not only does film contain cow byproducts, but that what the cows eat affects the speed of the film. He said that Kodak has a bunch of ranches where the cows eat only mustard greens to make the TMZ emulsion . . . I didn't ask him, but maybe someone here can tell me, if mustard is fast, what would be slow? ;-)

>>I just choose to spend my money where I feel it is appreciated.
I'm sure there are plenty of Kodak employees (many in the U.S.) who would appreciate it if you continued to purchase Tri-X. If choice of film is going to be an emotional response rather than based on the product's quality, then that ought to enter into the equation imho.
Films and heat

"the big stores, do they have film shipped to them in reefer trucks?"
Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
Seriously, it's often hot (90-100F) here in Denver when I get film shipped from NYC (the film is often very warm to the touch when taken out of the shipping box), and it hasn't been a problem.
