Click on black & white gallery and get color photos? When is this site going to start working properly?

I hope we can move forward with staying with the V.1 format which has worked well for years! I never had much trouble (if any) figuring out how to use the V 1.0 site when I first subscribed. The notion that "newbies" were having a hard time navigating the site makes me wonder how they are able to "navigate" the computer centric digital cameras with their plethora of menus, and buttons!I found learning this site much easier than learning my cameras!

I prefer the version 1.0 interface much more than the version 2.0. Why don't you post some kind of poll here (if possible) and see what your subscribers prefer?

I see nothing wrong with not being able to "get beyond the old folk". I find that many people who have "new insights" have only regressed to pictorialism in their efforts.

I think that your paper was a great answer to the assignment no matter what the naysayers have written here! I also think that it was very well written so pay no mind to those who think that they are literary critics. If your photography is a good as your writing you have a great future ahead of you.

I just purchased a mint condition f5 without a lens and need some advice about purchasing a zoom lens for it. I currently have a Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 auto focus lens that I was using on my N2020. I'm thinking of either a 24-50mm f/3.3-4.5, 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 D macro or a 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 D macro. These lenses are in my price range and are either listed on Ebay or B&H's used site. Any suggestions on these three lenses or maybe something else in the $200 dollar or less used range? Would any of these lenses be an improvement on what I currently have. I especially want a lens that will take advantage of the 3d color matrix metering system that the F5 has.

You can have a lot of film developed for what it would cost you to get into digital! If you plan on shooting thousands of photos a year it might be cost effective, otherwise film is the way to go. Of course I might be a bit biased! (See my post Goodbye Digital SLR)

Personally, I would keep the film. What great collectors items!

Goodbye
in Casual Photo Conversations
Posted
I hate to say this but I'm am saying goodbye to photo.net as a paying member. I have been a paying member for about 10 years now but the unwillingness of the owners of this site to listen to it's membership has totally frustrated me! I did not have any problem with the old version that, in my opinion, worked quite well. The old saying..."If it ain't broke don't fix it" aptly applies to the "old" version!
I want to thanks all the members who left feedback on my pics and comments. I hope that I run into you guys on another photo site someday. Right now I am moving to Digital Photography Review. It's not as good as photo.net used to be but I like it.
Bye
