  1. Marc, unfortunatelly it's worse than that: it's a scan from a 3x5 matte paper print using a lousy scanner. Pre-tweak file looks as bad as this. I've been too lazy about digitalization, even saved output file as jpg (scan date dec 2000/ jan 2001). I haven't been fair to photonet's spirit :(

I've just bought a good scanner that has negative adapter, so I'll try it. If it doesn't work well(since it's not a dedicated negative scanner), I promise I'll make a large print and have it scanned properly.

Thank you so much for helping me improve. You're welcome to critic as hard as you feel you should, as everyone else.

Every comment that I might have as already been exposed (skin blemish: disagreed), so here's a compliment: This one is so cool it could only be a Laura Napolitano :)

    Happy International Women's Day.

  2. I can hardly believe what I see. I'm staring at the beauty of a wasp's head. At the very color pattern.

Does that amaze you? It amazes me a lot!

Some more dof would make me print this and go show to people at the mall. As it is, I'll just HIGLY recommend people to visit photonet and enjoy.

Wonderful composition, this "purple thing" helps the subject stand out and makes this "waist-level portrait" a 7/7 to me.

    PS: Lacewing = neuroptera?

You've captured a great moment here! Nice composition and dof, allied with this perspective, gives depth to the scene.

At first i felt the image was a bit bleached and tweaking it in PS made believe there's a bluish cast. Here's my version of your image with levels adjusted. I think it would make this very good photo even better.

Ther's also a small vigneting that could be removed by cropping top and bottom a bit.

Ah... editing the comment for the third and last time: Did that mantis get among the ants by itself or...? :)
