Pretty shocking colours - for a creature of the night.

Excellent photo.

This caterpillar can defeat its enemies in several ways: scare them
with the fake eye spots, puzzle them with the two red wiggling tail
protrusions, or spray them with formic acid mist from the gland
placed just below its head.

So, what the frog actually ment? Should I feel offended?

Puss moth (Cerura vinula) caterpillar, one of my favorite larval
models.
-
It has eeeeevil grin, but makes a great pet (if somewhat short-lived).

A bit tight and neck-breaking composition. What do you think?

Given constant supply of food and at optimal temperature this
caterpillar doubles its weight every day.

Lucky you, having mantids in your garden. I have to buy mine, but being such excellent models, they are worth every penny (or eurocent). Nice composition, colors, lighting, and of course the model.

One of my favorite beetles: common long-snout acorn weevil. Length
of the fellow (body + proboscis) is 8mm. Advices & constructive
critique are welcome.

Hope nobody finds this scene of carnage offensive in any way. This
praying mantis is only 1.5 cm long, while it is still just a mantid-
baby (a nymph), it will reach only 2-2.5cm when adult. Feel free to
download, put on your www sites, desktops etc.
