I agree with derek. Not much about this photo is working for me. It's as if she was caught at an ackward moment with her eyes close. It somewhat blurry and the overall image is flat.

very nice image. this would make a great black and white.

this photo captures the curiousity of a small mind perfectly! Love the contrast and color. I thought it was snow too! lol :)

I can't help you out, because I don't have the original photos to work with. However, I'm sure you worked with creating layers. When I say 'off', lets remember that this is my opinion and it is subjective. After all, this is an original creation. So, I'm looking at it and saying to myself...I think I might have done this or that differently. So, in my opinion...lol...if I had created this image, I would have put the hands at different opacity/transparent levels. Maybe one had at 100%, another at 75%, and the third at 50%. My personal opinion is that the 3 hands weren't needed to get this point across. The one had on the left side of the photo with more of the hand showing would have been powerful enough. but, this is good and remember, you asked for a critique so I am just nitpicking!! :)

I think you did a great job. And it was a very original idea. I think it is perfect suited for what you are considering for its use. There is something off just a tiny bit. I'm not sure what. You might try different opacity levels with the hands? I don't know. I really like it. Good job and very creative :)

i agree. I don't like that fly on her nose. it seems almost like she is used to having it there, which leaves the notion that you are portraying poverty. yet, your description of the photo doesn't imply the same. Very nice light in the eyes, the expression is beautiful.

the 2 tones in the photo are kind of distracting. If not more so, undesirable. Gives almost a chilling feeling. As if the baby has been injured. the baby could have used some light in the eyes. they are too dark. I had to look very close to see that he does have eyes. at first glance it looks like the baby's eyesockets are empty.

thank you pamela. I agree! I used 2 strobes. However, they are not adjustable. I have to move them back and forth. It seems that in order to get the lighting just right, I have to lose that catch. Which is a big bummer for me! Catch lights are usually what makes a photo for me. back to the drawing boards. thanks so much for your comment. :)

nice angle, lovely expression on the childs face. The photo is a bit too soft for my taste. and a bit flat. needs more contrast.
