Some nice ones.
Mitch - like yours a lot. And totally digging Barry's NYC B&W work.
This is from the summer (sorry); Prospect Park, Brooklyn - "Celebrate Brooklyn" concert:

Well - this is not really what you're looking for, I don't think.... but, it's not sharp either!

Hi Steven -
Some inspiring B&W work - thanks for sharing. Very impressive. You've gotten great
contrast w/ the Neopan, both 400 and 1600, it seems. I ultimately found TX more
contrasty, but never really did scientific comparisons. But you get more deep blacks,
anyway. Really like your perspective and compositions - I admire how you play w/ angles
and blur. My own approach has been more straightforward, so I find your work inspiring.

Jeff -
Outstanding photo; the composition, the light, the mood, etc., all make this stand out for
me, to my mind, even more than some of your other fight work (though I don't know it all
comprehensively). I also love B&W and this seems to me to be a superb B&W photo (even
if it's digital?)
Ray - more mysterious cars! Digging that mood.

I just gotta say: Michael S. - always, always, solid, concrete, helpful answers, no matter
the question. Inspiring.

The Photography Guide referenced above is a great resource.
I recommend the Lisette Model show at Aperture and Garry Winogrand at Deborah Bell, but there are many, many more shows around - wish I had time to see them all! Richard Kalvar is at Leica Gallery, but haven't gone yet.

Congrats, Beau.
Always loved your work and happy to see you get the recognition you deserve - well done.
I live in Brooklyn and am in Manhattan often, especially Union Square, so will look for it at
B&N or elsewhere.

Hi Luis -
I've used the latest 50 'cron w/ retractable hood for over a year now and really like it. I
find having a retractable hood really convenient (i know some don't) and have never seen
flare while using it. There may be technically more effective hoods but this one works very
well for me.

[W/NW] Picture of the Week 48/2007
in Leica and Rangefinders

Some nice ones. Mitch - that is a nice image. Your great success w/ the Ricoh tempts me,
but not sure I can handle its weird finder; how do you shoot w/ it?
Lutz - I like those subtle colors and the composition.
Jung - very nice light in yours.
Matt - what happened to the 1 camera/1 lens? :) And I can read some of the ingredients
on that list.. :) Seriously, always like your B&W work and this is an interesting one.
Michael - Rich, as usual.
regards,
-Mark
