  1. Hello!

Advise how to process Tri-X, HP5 + and Neopan1600 for reception the big

beautiful grain of the round form. The grain should be round- it`s very

important. I did not like results with T-grain films- as though on a negative

have scattered needle sand... If to you it is not difficult, share please

    examples of photos.

    Yours faithfully, Andrew Shtativ

  2. Hello!

I heard, that Retro 100/400 it too most, that APX 100/400. I have finished

shooting 10 rolls Retro 100 (120 type) and have process a part in Rodinal and a

part in D76. Results are awful! The strong contrast, crookedly pasted paper

layer. There are black points which I well see in the sky in a negative. I in

horror! I never saw such Agfa! Rollei it is other film! For what take money? Be

accurater - shoot a trial film before the important photoshootings!

And the second question - where to find replacement of APX100 and APX25? I can

not find a film which so beautifully and softly transfers a midtones and as has

beautiful impressive grain. Agfa was rich silver.. It is very insulting....

    Help please, friends!

  3. Hello!

Please, share experience. Wich lens I should bay with 180mm focus leight for my

Technika 6x9. I need compact lens for landscape work (f16-32) and sometime

portrait (wide open). Maby Schneider Symmar or Tele-Artron (late version with

    planar scheme 5el/4gr)?

    Have a good day!

  4. Hello, dear LFormaters!

I need lightweight and simply tripod legs for my Linhof tech.IV 6x9. But i have

only 300$. The longer focal leight that I use is 210mm. Gitzo 1325 is pleasant

to me, but it`s cost... ~600$ is very high for me.

Please, advise me something with weight not more 2,5 kg (5,8 lb).

  5. Matthew, it is a bad answer.

I do not ask answers for myself. For myself I for a long time have solved all and I shoot only on b&w for a 2 years. But people ask why I shoot only on b&w. To one to explain easily - I speak, that it is my philosophy, I like process and b&w view. My opinion, that color distracts on itself a lot of attention, and its absence helps to concentrate on sense. But there are people whom instead of creativity the technics and specs interest. They often recommend me to buy the digital camera and "to not spend time in vain". To me to become it is insulting. For this reason I also have asked this question - to me are necessary technical the superiority b&w that I simple terms could tell it to people who think, that films have already died.

Thanks all, that do not regret time for answers. This information will be interesting not only for me.

    Greetins, -= Shtativ

  6. Thank you, Pico!

Only on front part have serial #86506..

About the ball- my groundglass have a 2 balls and it is fixed reliably in a vertical and horizontal position. And 6x9 back have a 1 ball- in a place where there is no ball there are small movements in the parties..

  7. Hello!

I have problem with mine Rollex 6x9/2x3. Why at my Rollex a plate

which presses a film at width only 75 mm? On Rollex 6x9/4x5 the it

    whole of 87 mm. http://prorock.info/11/Rollex_qestion.jpg Can a 75mm

plate make a 6x9 film format flat on all area?

And one more question. Why on Rollex established only one ball,

    instead of two? http://prorock.info/11/Rollex_qestion_2.jpg At

Rollex with one ball it is more micro vibrations and less stability

    in the fixed position..

  8. Russian Federation, as well as other countries, it is not necessary to be afraid - it should be respected and loved ;-)

Thanks for advice on a lens! My calculations were true - knowingly I have bought Copal #1 shutter.

Somebody can answer the first 3 questions on this lens?

  9. Hello, friends!

I for a long time searched for myself fast portrait lense with a

simple design. Trioplan has most approached under characteristics. I

searched Portrait-Trioplan, but unsuccessfully... Also has found in

Siberia in Russia at the descendant of photographers usual Trioplan.

All inscriptions on it: Meyer Gorlitz Nr.1071127 Trioplan 3.5/210.

Aperture range is 3.5-32 and it has 19 blades. Glass is uncoated.

    http://www.prorock.info/11/Trioplan.jpg I have bought it for 70$.

From here the first question: it is not dear for Trioplan?

Then I have noticed, that the maximal aperture is very similar with

    Portrait-Trioplan 8 1/4 inch f/3.2. I have compared schemes and have

been strongly surprised by their similarity!

    http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/meyerc/p21.html At not-

Portrait Trioplan aperture was 4.5, 6.3 etc and front glass-element

was convex from two parties. And at mine, as well as at Portrait

Trioplan a forward element convex in front and flat behind. Like

that: http://www.prorock.info/11/Trioplan2.jpg But a back element

from lateral aspect convex, and with internal almost flat - slightly

convex. And at mine Trioplan the groove for lense-hood inside, not as

Portrait Trioplan. Further the second question: my Trioplan is

evolution of old Portrait Trioplan? How it will behave at shooting

with the open aperture? (while I do not have opportunity it to

photograph - I shall explain further).

The girl who has sold to me this objective and the camera has told,

that its parents photographers have taken out this camera from

Germany precisely before war. But, by numbers from this reference

    http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=004uzc I have an

objective of 1949. To whom to trust?:-)

And the most important question: with what shutter I can use this

lens on mine Linhof Technika 6x9. I understand, the question can seem

silly. But can be will approach Copal 1? The movements for portrait

are not necessary to Me and objective 210mm Trioplan designet for

5x7. There can be apertures Copal 1 (30mm opening) enough to make

corner for wide-open f/3.5 aperture with lost-free light?

    With greater respect, -= Shtativ
