Thanks for your thoughts. It is really an overly broad question that I asked. The physical size of the A99 is ok with me and
I really don't need WiFi. The limiting factor in image quality could be the lenses I have. I was considering the A99 because
when I print I usually print really big. Thanks

I have a lot of full frame A mount glass and the prices of a new A99 are looking better. I really want GPS in the camera body and the
A99II is said to be losing GPS. I am mainly shooting landscapes. So what would the Sony-Minolta group advise? Thanks

Hope so, the more competion the better. The Pentax K mount would be alright with me. March isn't that far along so we'll soon know how this rumor turns out.

I recently shot my A65 in 4-7degrees F temps two days in a row and the shutter button stop working both days. The camera warmed up quickly in the car and started working properly almost imediatley but back in the cold 30-45 minutes later the shutter would have a problem firing. It's the only fault I have found in the camera. Still love the camera and would buy another if I was not saving up for the A99.

Thanks for the replies. I have enough film here to try all three. Thanks!

Hi, I used to use Images Photo Inc. in Arizona for developing my 120 and 4x5 B&W film but now see they have closed. Images did a really good job and I am sorry to see them go. Any recommendations for B&W labs in the USA, I don't care what state? Loads of Thanks.

I am really glad you posted this Jeff. I don't have an answer to your question but I had just boxed up a camera body to send them. Anybody out there have a recommendation on who else to send an old Fujica 705W cameera body to? Essex did really good work and would work on about anything. Really sad thing.

How things have changed in 10 months. The K-01 is now said to be discontinued and is at the close out price of $316 for the body only. At this price it is selling fast and BHPhoto has had to restock it several times. Those who have a k-01 seem to love it and are asking for a K-02. Since the K-30 seems to be drawing more excitement than the K-5II, what will the next 10 months bring?

Nice to see a warm summer beach in January, lovely, photos. Love the Autocord, like Ricoh's Diacord 225 two of the best TLRs. I did alot of testing of the Autocord against my Rolleiflex 3.5 and if I didn't tag the the Provia 100f I couldn't tell which camera they were taken from. I gave both of my children an Autocord and my son took his to Brazil and came back with some of the best photos of his life. Today a Pentax DSLR does most of the work but three to five rolls of 120 still go to the lab every month while my film 135s sit.

Well Laurentiu, if they do it right is a pretty big if. I think the "Q" series is eveidence of that. Yes Olympus had done so much right lately that they went broke.

Very nice Cory!! It's great that Walgreens is still processing film. Last time there I noticed they are not carrying Walgreen's branded Fuji film any more. Again nice B&W street photos.

If it doesn't have a K mount, I won't buy it. I have way to many K mount lenses to start over.

Nice shots, I was just holding my Ricoh Xr-7.

Richard any rumors out there on an update for the Sony A900? The Samyang 24/1.4 lens Laurentiu mentioned sound very interesting.

You all should be shooting a Pentax 67II, you don't know what your are missing. I still use it with my digital slr system.

-

Seriously don't listen to Jean, don't buy anything that says Canon or Nikon or everybody will think your just a crowd follower. Get a 120 folder from Certo6 on ebay and you totally confuse the Canon Nikon crowd. :)

It seems I find myself clicking on DPReview almost daily hoping for something good and new out of Pentax and was wondering if I am the only Photo.net fan that does? With all my Pentax glass I would love to see a full frame camera about the size of a Pentax K-x. Also just wondering what other Photo.net forums do Pentax fans check out here? I hit Classic Manual Cameras, Modern Film Cameras, Medium Format, and Large Format. Cheers

Nice images David. The usability of the M 80-200mm on digital is another example of why I dumped my Nikon gear.

This is one of my favorite camera bodies and the 35mm lens is one of my most favorite lenses. Try some Fuji Velvia and some new Tmax 400 with a red-orange filter. I use Photocraft in Boulder, CO for slides and a Images B&W lab in Arizona for B&W. I usually have slides processed "sleeved uncut" and view on a light box with a Pentax loupe. Try ebay for X570 flash.

I agree with David's comment and Doug makes a good point on "Travelling Companions." I carry the Koni on my F650GS quite a bit and the 58mm is almost always my lens of choice. Some sort of medium format camera is always put on board and I go light digitally with the Pentax K-x. I've packed Burke & James large format and big Studex tripods up the Russian River in Alaska so the Koni seems quite light weight to me.

I took a film *ist with a DA 40mm on the ski slopes yesterday and shot two rolls of Neopan 1600. This combo hangs unnoticed under the coat and I just like frosted aspens better in black and white.

-

I don't want a pickle, I just want to ride my motorcycle.

-

Since the Pentax 67II probably does not classify as vintage quite yet, I would call my Rapid Omega 200 with the 58mm lens as my vintage camera of choice.

-

Nice photos Mike. Before digital SLRs, I used to carry the TCX-40mm combo in my Rapid Omega bag for metering and quick shots. I still use the Rapid Omega a lot but check exposures with a Pentax K-x. The TCX with its mechanical shutter makes a great night photography setup. If I remember right when Modern Photography tested the 40mm Hexanon they said it was one of the sharpest lenses they had ever tested in that range. Currently my TCX-40mm is loaded and bagged with a Zenobia 6.45 folder, ready for tomorrow’s blizzard.
Would you buy a A99 as of April 2015 or is it too outdated?
