He's lying to you. Sony would never put out a production model camera that took blurry pics.
It might not take highest resolution pics, but definitely wouldn't take blurry pics. He's full of
s***.

Hi All,
Just wondering what experience you guys having with using 3rd party
batteries, like CTA or Power-2000 from B&H photo. I just have this
horror story running through my mind of a leaking or exploding
battery. Are those fears justified or is it safe to save a few bucks
and buy an off brand?
Thanks!

hi all,
i was wondering how many people have played with the merge
feature/HDR (high dynamic range) in Photoshop CS2. apparently you
just bracket a series of images, use the merge tool, and it takes
the best parts of the bracketed images and makes a really great pic.
does anyone have any examples they can post?
thanks!

Hi All,
I'll be going to the Bahamas in like a week. Just trying to figure
out whether I should take my 20D or a cheap digicam. I'm really
happy with the 20D, but its a little large and doesn't take really
great snapshots. I mean it takes awesome pics, but the built in
flash leaves a lot to be desired. And I won't carry around the 580ex
everywhere. I'm trying to decide whether I should buy a cheap
digicam thats ultra portable or just use my 20D. I've got a BG-E2,
580ex, 50/1.8, 28-135, & 4gb EXIII CF card. Any ideas? Also my equip
is all insured, so thats not a concern. Thanks!

Hi All,
Just wondering how many of you guys use the Canon 20D with a
microdrive, and what your results are. I'm going on a trip and don't
want to spend a whole lot on storage. I know that microdrives given
enough vibration mess up. I'm just wondering who uses the 20D and a
microdrive and what your experience is with the two. I record JPGs
most the time, but sometimes use RAW.
Thanks

Hi All,
I want to take my 20D to the Bahamas this summer. I don't want to
spend $3000+ on an Ikelite kit for it. Is there any waterproof clear
bag or something that is a reasonable price $200~ range or so that
will let me take this cam underwater?
Thanks

I've used this for a while, works awesome!
Runs of the bus of your machine so no external AC adapter required:

Hi All,
This isn't an attempt to find a buyer, but to ask your help in
finding a venue to sell practically new equipment. I bought a Canon
20D, 580EX Flash, 28-135 USM IS Lens, 50mm/1.8 Lens, BG-E2 Grip,
2x1GB Lexar 80x CF Cards, 1 Extra BP-511 Battery, Canon Pro Series
Bag, Omnibounce Flash Diffuser, & Lightsphere2 Light Diffuser.
I bought all this about a month ago. It's in perfect condition but I
have medical bills that came up unexpectedly and have to have the
cash. All have original boxes, manuals, unfilled warranty cards. I
know on eBay items don't get always what they should. Any other
ideas? Does KEH pay good for used equipment?
Thanks

I hate to burst your bubble. I've got a lumiquest diffuser, a Canon 580ex flash, and a Canon 20D body. I saw the lightsphere thinking something new and revolutionary...I wasted $45 on a piece of plastic junk that a $19 lumiquest over the flash head diffuser will do. Wish I had never bought it. Make a difference in pics --- NO.

I'm going to Nassau this summer and want to take only one body (my
20D) and one lens on the trip. My 28-135 USM IS lens just doesn't
seem like it has a large enough range. I don't know any Canon lens
that has a better range though for a trip where you don't know what
you're going to run into. I was looking at Tamron and Sigma. I
normally wouldn't even think about putting a 3rd party lens on my
camera, but...I want super versatility on the trip and to get good
shots. I am a stickler for image quality, but I don't want to haul
around my 70-200 2.8 my 50 1.4 and my 10-22. I want a nice zoom
thats decent quality. I was looking at the Tamron 18-200 or Sigma.
Any ideas? These would just be personal images, might want to blow
some up to 11x14 or 16x20.

its with the 20d, 580ex for fill, and 50mm 1.8

Hi All,
I'd like to get your thoughts on the first engagement pic I shot
today. I can't stand the sunlight on the shoulder of the guy,
should've fixed that while shooting, but oh well.
Thanks in advancem

This pic is the 100% crop image, shot at 400mm, 70-200 2.8 with 2x extender.

Hey all,
I was wondering what the easiest way to get dust of focusing matte
on the 20D is? There's a few particles on there. I switch lenses all
the time and its not on the mirror, just on the bottom of the semi
frosted focusing screen up top. Will a Q-tip suffice? I know Canon
would want you to send it to them, but what's the easiest way?
Thanks

I see people talking about using a Lightsphere for weddings...where
is the manufacturers info page so I can read more about it?
Thanks

if you get them printed at overnightprints.com, you can get 1000 postcards, full color for like $100 which is soooo cheap and i've used them before and they're awesome...i know its not really about what you asked. just thought i'd let you know.

I've got an event to shoot for the paper on Saturday, and chance of
thunderstorms is 70% all day. It's the towns annual festival. The
event is rain/shine. What's the best way to keep my equipment safe
while capturing a great shot? I've heard of people carrying garbage
bags before. I've tried to hold an umbrella in one hand while
holding the camera and that gets cumbersome. Any ideas?

Had a new lens overnighted...worked perfectly...got a bad lens. ergh.

Michael,
Just wanted to let you know that they might be compatible but chances are no. I bought a new Dell 21" and used it at home, took it to work, and it wouldn't connect to my G4. It will connect to a G5 with some adapters or a special graphics card. DVI on a mac and DVI on a PC use different pinned connectors, so while they are both DVI, they might not fit the same. I know that sounds weird, but I ran into the same problem.

Barbara,
I've actually bought the new Rebel XT (350d) before I got the 20D. I decided to save a few hundred. What a mistake. The body is smaller. Pro photographers don't want smaller body's. The controls felt awkward on it, the grip was so small, I felt like I would drop the camera at any time if not firmly grasping it. To put it simply, the Rebel XT feels like a kids toy. Not to say it can't take professional pictures. If you plan on having it for a while a few hundred more isn't that much over a period of a few years for a lot better build quality.
:-) Best of luck! Nick

One thing that I notice is that I know what they are because you told me, but from looking
at it, they kinda look like rolls of carpet. I'm sure in about 2 seconds someone would
figure out that they're gauze, but a picture shouldn't confuse someone. Throw a pair of
stainless steel surgical scissors in there, you can find them at any drug store for like 3
bucks. They'll establish size and give the pic a nice touch.
Deposit and Balance for Wedding Photography
in Wedding & Event

I do a $400 deposit, then the remaining balance due a week before wedding. You're almost
crazy to wait until you look at the pics from the wedding to get the balance. By this time,
they've already been to their honeymoon, spent way too much money, and much more likely
to argue with you about money. Also, a lot of people cancel their weddings, for whatever
reason...he cheated on me at the bachelor party, we changed our minds, on and on. You
need to make sure you get your money regardless of what happens with the couple.
