  1. Most negative films push badly, grain and contrast increase out of proportion to the speed increase. One of the few negative films that pushes well is Fuji Superia/Press 800, which is usable at 1600, and just usable at 3200. Development times have to be increased, and most Labs with automated equipment will charge you for the privledge because it is non-standard processing.

     

    From experience, pushing Fuji 400 films gives a poorer result than using 800 films, but is useable in an emergency. I haven't tried pushing Kodak film.

     

    I'd be interested to see how Kodak 400 pushes, so maybe you can experiment and let us all know.
