I'm happy to see that people are finding photomfa.com useful. I started it as a hobby and so far have been happy with the results. I've got a ton of upgrades and design work that I'm going to be launching in the next month or so to really take it to the next level.
The good news is that I'm having a lot of success getting people who are looking for photo labs and directing them towards that are processing film. This should help keep those labs in business and also provide an incentive to keep processing film.
In addition to listing labs, I'm also collecting info on darkroom rentals, photo courses and offering free classifieds for analog photo stuff.
and I'm giving away some Portra 400!

Cheers

I'd tell you to buy the SX/70 Sonar. Which is basically an uglier autofocus version of the SX/70. You can turn the autofocus off too.

I also love it, it is a little limited but for the right applications it is great.
I've been using my to produce turn of the century photographs of the White mountains. I have more px100 shots on my blog.

I run a blog about that kelly. I interview photo graduates and I ask them how they make their money. An internship is important but so is a fabulious portfolio. Get an internship to build a great portfolio and you will have no trouble getting work.

Hey everyone.
I'm working on a website devoted to photography education and I was looking for people who had
degrees in photography related fields from schools like Brooks and Hallmark to interview about your
experiences. The end result will be an interview posted on my website with a link to your portfolio etc.
If you are interested give me an email at photoschoolinterview at yahoo dot com
Cheers

I am also interested in what I should include in my M.F.A portfolio. I really have no clue.
My work is about more than just photography, but I still wonder what level of work I
should show.

the thing is the island is pretty much a couple of shacks. but i will see if they lease
cameras. i'm not expecting to make brilliant work, i just want to be able to capture a little
bit of the feeling of being underwater. i really really love what water does to light.

i see flickr as a mediocrity factory. people take pictures that look like famous pictures and
then people comment positively on them and so the photographer does it again and again.
i only use flickr to host images, i ignore the commenting part.

it is called the Polaroid PhotoMax Web Color Printer. and I know that ritz stores everywhere have tons of them.

Has anyone had experiece with one of the two types of polaroid
printers that print images onto polaroid film? I have the one that
uses type 500 film and I know there is one that uses spectra film. I
might buy one that uses spectra film but i can't find much
documentation about it.

I am going to be stuck on an island off the coast of Belize near a coral reef. I have decided
that since I am going to be there for a week I should try underewater photography. What is
the best cheapest way to begin?

I know so many hipsters who have LOMOs and they have all paid way to much for them.
but they loved them.
I'm excited, I can't afford the price in us dollars but from what I have heard it will be a
good camera.
I would love to have a digital lomo. There is a super cheap 14.99 camera sold at Wal*Mart
that i think of as a digital lomo but it really isn't the same. What i would do for a digital
version Lomo or a

I'm going to spend a week on an island in belize and I am looking at ways to photograph
underwater. I realized that it may be cheaper to buy a cheap 35mm camera and use film. I
am also tempted to buy a really horrible low resolution waterproof digital camera and see
what happens.

Yes but does anyone know how to do it well. I have tried and not produced anything nearly as beautiful.
i became obsessed with polidori's work after seeing his chernobyl book. his work can be really wonderful.

Leni Riefenstahl used Leicas. other very talent people too. i am interested in how leica like the panasonics are that have leica lenses.

i remember reading that pentax is coming out with a whole bunch of new cameras. they are even going to come out with a medium format digital camera. i'm really excited about that.

It is about marketing, sociology and sexism. Right now the biggest sellers in the contemporary photography scene are large format color photography. if things keep going that will be what poeple think of as fine art.

I put together this little article about Fibonacci numbers and photography.

I am thinking about sending out cdrom portfolios with samples of my
photographing on them. Does anyone know of a good inexpensive way to
handle the software part of it? I want it to be very slick, so that
the potential viewer only has to put it in their computer and have it
work. I know kodak makes something like that, does anyone have any
experience doing this?
