  1. Hal, me old pal. good to see you are still around.

For those who don't know, Hal is a Halina 35mm camera I bought for ?1.99 on the auction site. When I first used him to see pictures for me, he had a bit of a fuzzy side to his images. Nevertheless, since I originally sent him to Roman in..... wherever Roman lives, Hal seems to have mended his ways a bit.

When you get Hal, give him a roll of film to eat and post the results on here then send me two of the best images and I'll post these on Hal's page.

    Have fun!

  2. Since Nancy asked what am I doing with Hal's images, it has got me

thinking since this has been a wonderful holiday for Hal and the

images he has posted with help from his hosts have been most

    inspiring.

I was thinking [always dangerous] that it might be nice if I put

together a web-presence for Hal's holdays. So, if all you past AND

future hosts of Hal could send me web-sized files [i am on dial-up]

of your 2 [two] best images from Hal's stay with you, I will put it

together - with all requisite details of the hosts [photographers].

Brilliant!! I can go to bed and sleep now!

    Thank you all in advance

  3. Have ben having fun with my KOWA 6MM at the World Masters Track

Championships at my workplace - the Manchester Velodrome. The light

in the track centre is quite limited even with the full lights on so

    this was taken at f2.8 - 1/60th. Film is HP5 rodinl 1:50.

The subject is GB's Victoria Pendleton who is the current world elite

sprint champion and was presenting medals to Masters winners.<div>00Db7C-25714984.jpg.841599ad2d5b8f297fc775d47345b22a.jpg</div>

  4. I just love this camera! I have only had it a week or so but just

love it. Took this picci at work in the Velodrome which is really low

light when the lights are on for training only. So, this was f2.8

1/60th handheld on Delta 400 in Rodinal 1:50. The 'boy' is Craig

Mclean - fastest rider in the world over 1 lap standing start -

former world champion and Olympic medallist and a really nice, if

    over-muscled man.<div>00DWFJ-25608384.jpg.1ac3d534d35a04efef3bd2e285f67355.jpg</div>

  5. I've been having a few problems lining up subjects using the 'sports'

viewfinder on my Rolfix. I can't seem to cope too well with what I

presume The Expert might call parallex issues - or something. I'm not

expert so I call it 'missing the subject'. As it happens, this here

photo looks rather good with this 'composition' I think. But I would

    welcome some thoughts and advice.<div>00DJx0-25315984.thumb.jpg.2d54bc088787cc6427c117b5319ed781.jpg</div>

  6. Thanks. The Bessa has a Helomar lens. I have used a bit in the field so to speak for 'head 7 shoulders' - see Totally Bonkers.

I got the camer from my favourite camera shop in Manc. Uk, "The Real Camera Co.". The place is piled high with old cameras and I practically salivate when I go in at the sight of the all.

    Love the camera too
