  2. For Phenidone one of the best price that I'd found is http://www.digitaltruth.com. And maybe is good to consider to ship it, 100g for very low price. I don't know if they ship Triethanolamine, they sold it for avery good price too. If you really want from UK, the bets way to find who is selling, is first try you local pharmacy and ask for this chemicals, bring with you the CAS number, if they don't sell it ask if they know for a reseller, ask your friends from Bio/analysis labs, check yellow pages for drugs/chemicals sellers. I think you're understanding what i'm trying to tell you. Sniff the industry and you will get the results, I have done the same, not in UK unfortunately.

  3. Richard you're posting an article from 1994, since new regulations and powers X-Ray, mostly after 9/11.

Myself had problems with paper in France and Portugal, I personaly sued them for damaged paper. And learned how to pass trough x-ray scanner. You sould contact TSA (tranpsort security administration) in USA, or local equivalente in country you're visiting, and the arrange all papers, because sometimes they don't do hand inspection (or they don't want to do, even if it's your own right)

With films specialy B&W never had any problem. Measured fog levels ( with 2 densitometers) nothing detected.

    Regards,

    Rui

ps: Think about films crews, they never pass trought x-ray scanner her filmed reels.

  4. For carrying films. My tip is to contact the organisation responsible or Aviation and Security. Maybe TSA, here in Portugal is INAC. I contact them and get papers for carying produtcs that can't be x-rayed. Is the safest way, and no poblem at all. I do this since I got problem and several box of BW paper got fogged and sued the Aeroport, indeed the films I carry with me when the paper fogged had no problem at all. Bergger Ortho, ilford ortho, tri-x, and other brands. But i think it was luck or substract of film is harder than paper.

    Rui

  5. With fims even if they are high asa normally doesn't be a problem instead with paper is very diferent. I have travelled in Europe and passed trought X-ray scan for hand bagage, and this one are the hardest on x-raying, and never had any problem. I had problem with paper and sued an aeroport in Portugal for a refund. I won the cas because I warned the operator for the risk of scanning my paper. I've learned a lot since then, how to get accredited to travel with paper or other sensitive x-ray product. A seller in portugal once buy paper from Foma and is shipped by DHL and arrived fogged he contacted foma and tested the batch but no problem in batch, so it was scanned. It's possible to put a stick warning to not scan you can find examples in internet. But for be safe, try to contact DHL post office, wirte the names of the people ask them, make a insurance, wahtever to protect you. And in my opinion, try normal postal services, like USPS. Because when is to pay the damage no one is better than other. And services like USPS are far lower prices and they do not scan like the others one. This is my empiric opinion about scanning. So have something in mind, you're not buying anything ilegal, so ask DHL about damages if they occur. ( but be careful about who you get the information, try to get/read papers policy)

  6. Thanks Leonard, Eric, and Tim.

Tim as you can see you have multiple areas os focus.

When I swing my camera (horseman LX) the horizontal line of focus move to a diogonal. I've tried a lot of combination movements, and never got want I want. Now I have a new idea, I'm gonna try it, and let you know what I got.

    Regards,

    Rui

  7. Hello,

I'm trying to focus my large format camera as minimum as possible. As

exempale jus want to focus one tree in a rank of multiple trees. What are the

movement I need to do. I tilt back and front to get minimum depth of field.

Now I have a line of focus.

  8. MV labs is a very good one, i don't know if is far away. I'll try it to test your process, how good is what you're doing at home. Never forget, how good developer/printer you are, someone you do it 8 hours per day much better. With a good negative you can have or obtain a good print, so i'll test my all process going to mv labs and compare with home results.

  9. Hello,

I never flight in US, but I've experienced some troubles in France and Portugal with some papers, not with films, neither 135 or sheet film. So I asked them how they proceed with film industry, and they said me that they contact the airport before for inspection. So The better way is to phone them and ask them for the better procedure, keep a good record of everyone you talked so if you have a problem. I got back my money of every sheet of paper. You can ask here for a visual inspection, some countrys dosen't do. So contact the airport security services, try to know the model, and even try to phone the company that sell the scans. Or send the films by post.

    Regards,

    Rui

  10. If you have paid with paypal fill a complaint they are very good.

I have filled a couple of time with the same problem, items not like described and got every time my money back.

    Regards,

    Rui

Even if the films are good or not, the price of out dated films are diferent fom new ones, so if this will happened to me i'll fill the complaint and got the money back. You can buy out dated films everywhere, even check your local dealer and make buisness with them.
